Conti vs Michellin

All i can say is Conti 3s seem to piss all over the Michellins. Which I am astounded by as in the past Michellin have always been better when Ive ran them.

I've got both on two sets of wheels now and the rears on the Michelins lose traction all the time compared to the Conti's. From now on its Contis for me.

When I bought my M it had Michellins on it... they felt like they were greasy even in the summer.... once I got my Pirellis it was much better but I have also had conti's on my 5 series... great tyres.

I've gone from PS2's to Conti's and find the ride much better and before anyone points out, that going from old to new will give a better ride, the PS2's still had 6.00mm on them.

Although I have to admit I was expecting the Cont's to be quieter than they are.

Have only ever had PS2s from my two previous cars to now (E90 M3), never had an issue with them per se but have lost traction before in damp conditions which perhaps was to be expected (it was a rear heavy car) but otherwise never had problems with them.

They both feel similar to me, but when I went from Conti3 to PS2 I noticed my TC light was lit up a lot less.

I will be going for the new Michelin PSS when the time comes.

My M came with Conti's but all I read on forums were how great PS2's were against the conti's so went for a full set of PS2's after i thrashed my conti's on an airfield

I was left very disappointed with the Michelin's, they made the car feel twitchy and on edge, the Cont's made the car feel more flexible and I could work out what was happening at the rear from the seat of my pants, suffice to say I went back to the Conti's pretty quick..

I had the same experience after moving from conti's to PS2's. Taking a hard turn with the Conti's gave me confidence since losing of grip was very progressive and predictable. They somehow felt softer. It is more twitchy and unpredictable with the PS2's

My brother and I both run the Conti DWs on our M cars; my 335i has the PS2s so I have an honest opinion about both tires. The DWs may be a tad louder and they aren't run-flat (a good thing). The PS2s feel nervous in the rain and they don't seem to last as long. Needless to say, as soon as the 245/35/19 DWs are back in stock I'll be switching the 335 over to them.
