Carbon Fiber roof on Sedan?

As soon as I can sell my Mini (see the M3 vs R53 in the M3 vs... forum) I'm going to purchase an M3. One of the things I'm really interested in, is the Carbon Fiber roof. The dealer here on island says it's an option, but I'm not seeing it as an option for a Sedan. Maybe for 2009? Anyone know?

Nevermind... Think I found the answer in the 2009 catalog a few posts from this one, and it says CRP is available on the coupe only... Which I assume is the Carbon Fiber Roof Panel. Boo!

Oh well... 30lbs isn't a terrible difference.

I'll bet the entire sedan roof doesn't weigh 30 lbs. On the e46, the difference between a non-sunroof steel roof and a CF roof was something like 6 lbs. You aren't missing anything substantial by skipping the CF roof on the sedan. The big difference is between the moonroof vs. non-moonroof. That difference is like 30lbs.

CF roof is 11 pounds less than non-MR car.
CF roof is about 40-60 pounds less than a MR car.

on the e46 the diff between steel roof and MR was about 65 pounds.

OK gang. I stand corrected. The point is to avoid the big glass hole in the roof, and that the CF panel isn't a significant improvement over the steel roof. But I sure like it. I wish the sedan got it as well.
