What! When was this oil switch? OMG! This is huge news, wait let me take a selfie.
Yeah OP, seriously OLD news. It's even been on Facebook, that's how old it is.

The good thing is that if you keep using the new stuff, I hear it will grow a pair of turbo's in your engine bay!

Not really agreed with all the comment above !
Here it's still EDGE for the S65 , and hope they keep it this way...

Forewarned is forearmed .
For Christ's sake...How can we use oil for our "NA" S65 with "Twin/Turbo" on the bottle ?
BMW recommend strictly only Castrol/TWS for ///M engines and that for the last 7 years !
Now in the last 6 months we had ...

1- Castrol/TWS
2- Castrol/EDGE
3- Shell/5H1T specially for Twin/Turbo , but also good for high NA rev. engines ... WTF ???
4- What's next....
Personal I think in Germany they see our S65 as history , because now suddenly every oil is just perfect !
Maybe we should try olive oil ?
First they f@cked up the bearings and now even the oil for it...

you're getting words confused. It says "Twin Power Turbo", which doesn't mean anything, it's just marketing jibberish. You think it says "Twin Turbo Power" which I can see that it is confusing to some people since it would be used in an NA engine.

This new oil is 10-60 weight and is exclusively for S85, S65 engines and last gen M3 and M5 NA engines.

Now I believe Shell updated the oil and probably put a better additive package in it. The only way to tell is to have someone run an oil sample of the clean oil.

This new oil is 10-60 weight and is exclusively for S85, S65, and a few other NA M engines. I don't recall what the label said, but I saw it today at the dealer, it restricted the models to NA M cars.

Let's hope , Thanks for the info and pic !
BTW...Seems that my S65 is very happy with EDGE , runs a lot smoother than previous with TWS .

OP - Here's the description from a BMW parts store

Original BMW Engine Oil - BMW M TwinPower Turbo 10W-60. (replaces 07510009420 10w60) 1 Liter bottle. There’s a new name in high-performance engine oils: Original BMW Engine Oils. Developed exclusively for BMW to meet the specifications of the new BMW Twin Power Turbo engine generation, they are manufactured, tested and approved to be the only oils worthy of The Ultimate Driving Machine.® BMW has taken the “crude” out of our engine oil, formulating its base oils purely from natural gas. The result: crystal clear base oils with virtually none of the impurities found in crude oil. It’s a major breakthrough in how engine oils are formulated, providing enhanced viscosity, reduced friction and lower volatility. They’re the best choice of oils to use for all BMWs. 1 L bottle.
