They look nice and that price is much more reasonable. Too bad they are not available on the US EPC

Trier,
Need to wash the car which I'm going to do today The edition mirror covers are standard mirror covers painted in Jet black and the rim around the front of the mirror painted in the body colour. I haven't got them as yet as I'm not sure I like the mirrors in black. Neil.

an easy way to get a similar effect on your stock grills is to just have your local paint shop spray a black clear coat on your chrome items and voila! black chrome...
im guessing the same could be done with a satin black clear coat over the chrome, although i may be wrong

Black Chrom is the same as Gloss Black or Shadow-Line Brilliant. Just different names. My question: Will you see the difference between Black Chrom/Gloss Black/Shadow-Line Brilliant and Jet Black?

But the Edition "black chrome" isn't the same as anything else I've seen from BMW. Regards the OP - he was ripped off big time if he really paid that amount for the parts!

Black Chrome looks like this: It's a form of chrome finish with a dark tint applied over the bright chrome. The Shadowline / Gloss Black is simply something painted black and then gloss clear-coated......

I just received mine. They are amazing!!! (and thanks, once again, to Nate at IND - I knew if anyone could source these, they could).
They were nowhere near the price that the OP paid (thankfully) - still not cheap, but I like 'em. A LOT. I agree - they're not tinted clear over bright chrome - more like a darker , gloss pewter colour base, with a clear finish. Looks great! Thanks, Nate!!

Sorry. Dunno. I just forwarded the link to Neil McRae's thread, and asked Nate if he could source them. He could. No part numbers on the packages. They were the same ones, though, from a BMW dealer.

NOT gloss black. They are like a darkened chrome. The OP's pics and Neil's pics are pretty good. I think they would be very difficult to photograph adequately, but these guys have managed quite well. They look even better in person, to be honest. They were NOT cheap, but they weren't as expensive as the OP's pricing, which I found kind of scandulous!

How well do these match the gloss black trim around our doors?

They complement each other really well. Even if there was a difference it's very hard to say. Just like the high gloss trim against the shadow chrome - it's the dark chrome and the shiny part that stands out. You won't be disappointed. You should see the difference in the pics in the original post.
