Artpe if u want to believe the z06 only did the ring in 7:49 sec thats fine, u can be in denial if it makes u feel better about the M3 considering you will only believe one source and completely neglect others.
But it is blatantly obvious that ur biased because you will not even acknowledge the fact that the fastest time recorded around the ring by the z06 is actually 7:43 sec by various testers. You clearly only want to go by what R&T achieved around the ring because they did poorly with the z06, in turn making the M3's time look somewhat respectable in comparison. |

don't choke on the cherries... the numbers I posted were accurate, and as representative as the ones you chose... denial is not a river in Egypt and either way, it's WELL over 50% (1/2), as was stated |

Even though the M3 costs about the same as the Z06....its not really a "fair" comparison....since the Z06 motor is almost twice the size with substantially more HP & torque & far less weight (450lbs)...... A better comparison would by a base 430-436hp vette coupe..... The acceleration times of the M3 coupe and vette coupe are just about dead even..... The vette does 0-60 in 4.3 vs 4.1 M3, 0-100 in 9.5 vs 9.4 M3, 1/4 mile in 12.6 @ 115.7 vs 12.5 @ 114.8.....The M3 slightly beats the vette in braking and handling....but the Vette is a tad cheaper with slightly better gas mileage...but the car is nearly 400lbs lighter at 3285lbs vs 3650 for the M3 coupe

Ok this is startin to get out of hand, look im not an M3 basher, i was actually very close to gettin one myself but either some you are being decieved, doing the decieving or are in plain denial.
People are goin to read this thread and actually believe like a couple of u already do that an M3 will hit 0-60 in 4.1 sec. If this were true an M3 in a drag race would beat a shit load of cars (which in sense it allready does) all the while stickin almost neck to neck with the likes of a porche 911 turbo, nissan gtr, dodge srt-10 and a z06. Im bringin this list of cars up because some people are on the fence on gettin an M3 because of its off the line performance. If they stumble on to this thread, they will actually believe they will be able to consistently hit 0-60 in 4.1 sec an M3, then spend between 63-70K on an M3 and then find out everyone was talkin a bunch of bullshit. Before i put down the real numbers that have been attained by a crap load of reviewers aside from the once in a lifetime 4.1 sec that has gotten a couple of you guys hallucinating, there are videos poppin up with M3's in drag races that need to watched. Majority of ull have already seen the isf vs M3, in which the isf beats it (with its 4.5-4.7 0-60 time), consistently, the M3 does keep up a few times but never once did it over take it. Dont tell me because the guy was a shitty shifter because if a car can truely do 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, even an above average shifter can beat the likes of a lexus IS-F. Also, a drag race of cayman vs. M3 has also popped (yes both are stock), and guess what the M3 loses by a car length, again, watch the video, and undestand this, if the car can truly go 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, not even an above average shifter but an average shifter should be able to beat a fuckin cayman that (if its a cayman S) has 295 hp and hits 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, thats a whole fuckin second slower. For some of u guys, all of this wont matter and u will go on believing an M3 can hit 0-60 in 4.1 sec and stay neck to neck with the beasts i listed in the beginning. But for other people who read this thread i hope ull understand the rediculousness of their claims, its one thing to be decieved by a person/article/or whatever and its another thing to be in complete denial because an individual is fan of certain dealer/car or just a hater of others (cough "GM" cough). Realistically, if your an awesome shifter and have good road/wind conditions, according to the majority of reviewers and people who have the car in real life (i have 2 friends in houston who already got theirs) you will hit 0-60 between 4.5-4.8 seconds. Ultimately however, there is one easy ass fuckin way to see if an M3 can truly go 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, come to think of it i should have just said this and called it a day. I want someone to race me in my z06. I live in houston, am an average shifter at best but I guarantee i will beat anyone in an M3 who callenges me by a minimum of 5 car lengths. My two friends who already got their manual M3's straight up refuse to race, which is cool, i never said that their car was bad, i actually did and still do like M3's but as far as raw performance goes, i would straight up rip em apart. Sweet car. Can't say I'd ever buy a GM myself though. I've yet to see any 08 M3s on the road in my area but I see plenty of corvettes, at least 3-4 per day.

I bet u 10 grand that if i ran the quarter mile 10-15 straight times and supraman, i dont know if u have an M3, ran yours or someone elses the same amount of times, my z06 would be completely fine while yours or whoevers would not.
This could all be easily settled if someone in houston with an M3 meets me up at a drag strip or hell, even on a street (westhiemer). But then again i dont know if its worth risking the money they put in their car. |
