275/35 Tire on a 10.5" Rim

Has anyone run this tire width with this rim width? If so have you had any problems?

If you know anyone running this combination can you post some pictures here. I want to get a visual on it as well.

I need new tires for my HREs going with PSS. 19x9 et. 22 Front (Thinking 255/35) 19x10.5 et. 25 Rear (Thinking 275/35)

I did. It's fine. It's a little stretched looking but no big deal. The stretch helped with the 22 offset and lowered ride I was running.

It's a little stretched but not extreme. I had this setup before. I'd run a 245 or even a 235 in the front if I were you though to match the 275.

Oh wow. I'm surprised how stretched they. Definitely not the look I'm going for.

It will also depend on the tire. Hankook V12's run narrow. A Yokohama AD08 or Michelin PSS wouldn't look as stretched.

Check out these pictures of 275/35/19 Michelin PSS on 10.5" wheels.

This^^

I would run a 275/35 on the 10.5" rim if you are going with PSS. A simple thought about how 265/35 on a ZCP 10" fits will provide the safe assumption that the 275/35 will fit a 10.5" with a marginal amount of stretch. Would probably look better depending on the offset and your springs. However, a 295/30 should work, but I don't like increasing the stagger from OEM setup….

Yeah thats my problem. Last year I ran 255/35 front and 29/30 rear. I didnt like how the car felt increasing the stagger like this.

I want to do 255 front 275 rear. So my choices are see if the PSS tire will fit on the 10.5 width rear or just trade them for some ZCP wheels or something.

That's why I always run 9.5" or 10" wheels in the front. That way I can run 275's in the front to reduce understeer / stagger.

I mean, idk what wheels or offsets you have. You should post that info if you want us to chime in on anything other than "will 275 fit a 10.5" wide wheels"

for which the answer is, yes, if the wheels are standard or run wide (PSS etc…)

good luck mayne

9" front at a 22mm offset may rub with a 255. I deally I would run a 9.5" with a 25mm offset, to give a little more stretch and thus prevent rubbing.

This is what i'm wanting to do as well. I don't like how wide the 295/30 tire is on my 10.5" BBS CHR wheel. So 275/35 looks perfect from the above link.

Won't the wheel speed sensors be thrown off though? there's a 0.6" difference from the 255/35 up front (which is what I have)...although I'm hoping the 275 will get pulled down a bit from the stretch over the 10.5" wheel. Afterall, the tire is measured on a 9.5" wheel, per Michelin.

Awesome, i'll be making that switch soon!

I also learned from the owner of the car in the above posts (who sold the Volk wheels) that the 0.6" is not enough to throw off the wheel spin sensor, just as you know from having run this set-up yourself.

In my case I run 10.5 square wheels as that's my track setup and DSC is off anyway

On the street I run relatively stock sized wheels/tires

I used to run that on my 20x11 rim 275/35/20 it was fitted perfectly! Now I have 295/25/20 and works much better and still has a bit of a stretch since I really should be running 305/25/20

Update: PSS 275/35 100Y installed, and I am much happier now with the balanced look between the front and rear tires! It's a tiny bit more stretched, but like the look! It give the illusion of being tucked into the wheel well, while still allowing the 10.5" width of the wheels to take the whole assembly out to the edge of the fender.

The last photo is how it looked before with the 295/30 XL, too boxy and steamroller-ish for me.

I'm on stock EDC suspension, no spacers.

Are you also running 255s up front? How does the car feel with the current setup as compared to before? TIA.

Yes I am, 255/35 100Y up front. The only difference I can feel is a BARELY softer ride due to the extra 0.5" or so of tire meat on the rears...all around though, quite the same.
