Oh, I thought you were engine-braking because you commented on how you love manual transmissions afterwards.

You can coast by letting off in autos too...

I've never driven an auto, except in driving school, but I know that they are much harder to slow down without applying the brakes, correct? That is what I was referring to.

I dunno, I don't use my brakes until I actually come to a stop because I leave a lot of room between the car in front of me and my car so I can just slow down gradually without the brakes.

lol I do that too, but you should still give a signal that you're slowing down ahead of time. Especially at night when drivers react slower, resulting in an accident that could have been avoided. I just flash my brakes once or twice to let the person behind me know that I'm slowing down.

I guess now that I'm in a lease with 4-year free maintenance it doesn't really matter, but in my previous cars I wanted my brakes to last as much as possible lol. That guy didn't deserve a courtesy brake anyway.

this is exactly how I do. I use hazard light when I brake or slow down fast. works great. I try not to use the brake-twice thing anymore, too many people got pissed at me, because they thought I was brake-checking them(yeah, in a freaking traffic).

lol, I'd love to have an LED pattern on my rear mirror that says, "Slow down, motherfucker"...though it'd probably induce road rage.

I want one of those! My mom says I'm a bad driver because I always get angry when people cut me off or drive too slow. My mom thinks my attitude will get me shot haha. I want one of those cards! I read through them -- i giggled like no other.

Too bad they only light up if you hit the brakes *really* hard...as in activate the ABS as well.

Just toss in LED taillights, then they'll be bright enough to warn little kiddies on cell phones.

Geez, what's up with BMW - even the new Accord has LED taillights. And the new Eclipse. Cadillacs. G35. List goes on. And on. And on.

Boards tend to decay after a while. You have to love a country where kids have enough money to OBCESS with buying bolt on junk for a perfectly good car. Remote control cars ("RC") is a good example of a hobby that sell "upgrades" that are just BS, but the disciples swear that they make the thing go faster. ....sorry, just a minor rant. CM.

Sorry to breathe life into this long dead thread, but it is fascinating to see what lengths people go to when their pride is hurt (The Acura Gang). If they hate BMW so damn much...why the hell are they stalking Nikki in E90Post? I figured they would be either talking shit on their own message boards or out and about getting OWNED by BMW's.

Plus...I am sooo glad I am out here in Germany where you have never heard of Acura (well, except for the other servicemembers who brought them over with them).

Interesting stories Nikki. Seems like there are LOSERS on every street corner down there in Florida. Oh well....

...hey, Nikki.....KILLER CAR OF YOURS!

Don't let the losers get ya down,
Don in Heidelberg.

Acura drivers are jealous that an entry level BMW can destroy their entire lineup

And p.s. "killer" i'm sure your ride is better than the multiple 335i's, M3, M5, and M6 owners on this site, yup, LOL

go back to your trash company and boards

Well said herbz. There are pioneering motor companies that have set the standard for performance cars and now exceed those standards while other corporations are still trying just to meet the original set standards by BMW, Porsche and MB.

The Japanese do make a reasonably good and efficient automobile...
...but it sure as hell "ain't" no BMW!

wow, old ass post! this was really before i was active, but still a funny read.

below was my response to hrc's thread "a lot of people hate bmw". my comments were regarding tsx owners on acurazine.

the e90 is my second bmw.

While it is obvious, especially to us, that a bmw is better, perhaps it is better if us on this forum are more careful and not doing the exact same thing that other car enthusiasts are doing, that is bashing a brand which they don't have.

Going forth and ripping into Acura's is really not separating yourself from the owners on other boards, you just are doing it in favor of a different brand. I like e90post because its mostly made up of "thinking" individuals but there wasn't much of that in this thread.
