Question Photos of interior trim

Hi to everyone.

Very anxious for the arrival of the M3 to the US. Actually I am already trying to decide on the options!!! The thing is that I am confused about the diferent interior trims. For example, I liked the grey poplar that is offered in the normal 3 series. Does anyone has a photo of the Anthracite interior? Is that similar to the gray poplar?

Thank you.

Am I the only one who really doesn't like the carbon leather trim?

I wish I could see some pics of sycamore anthracite wood time with black leather.

When I first saw it I wasn't too enthused. But it has grown on me. At least from looking at pictures.

Thanks

Thank you for the answers.

To tell you the truth, I had the configurator photos, but the problem is that I don't think they represent the color.

The link that gasma posted showed a "real" one. But it seems to me that's a little "brownish"... isn't?

The carbon is "leather" or is like the one the M5-6 has??

I think I'll go for Alpine White, red interior and carbon or Anthracite.

Will try to find more photos. If any one has more, please post them.

Thank you for the responses!

Totally with you on that preference. CF belongs where CF is used and CF should only be used in strength or stiffness and weight critical areas. Putting it in the interior is very poser to me. Many seem to like it and to be ordering it though.

You already know this, but CF leather has nothing to do with carbon fiber, it is just a name BMW gave it because of the small resemblance. now if it were actually carbon fiber i could understand your argument about being poser-ish, but i'm not sure you'd feel the same way about it had BMW given it a different name. I think it is popular because it is unique to the M3 and because its something new. IMO, wood trim does not belong on the M3. the aluminum silver brushed gray whatever its called, however, is a good option.

The interior trim choices are a joke. CF leather is the lesser of all evils. By no means is it "nice".

I agree with Epacy...all of the inteior options are awful. I'm going with the SA wood and fox red leather....this of course with the AW.

Indeed I do know this. Interior trim just like all matters of aesthetics are 99% personal and a matter of opinion. And that being said, IMHO, making leather look anything like CF is bad and calling it anything like CF is even worse. Popular and unique certainly does not equal good. I do agree with you that wood does not belong in an M3 either. Once again we are "victims" of BMW moving the car "upscale" a bit compared to the role of the 3er in the past. Sorry if you have/will choose CF and you feel at all insulted by my poser claim, perhaps a bit strong but some truth I think, to each their own on trim choice.

no...i definitely wasn't insulted, i can see where you are coming from. i don't know why the hell bmw called it CF leather either. i think that name is really stupid. i still think that it looks cool, though. i wish piano black was an option...

I've always liked the Titanium Shadow trim. It looked good in the e46 and I think it looks good in the e92. The piano black sounds really good. I'd have to press the dealership about it once the M3 is in full swing in the US.

+1...the piano black for the dash should be really easy to get but i'm not sure if the trim in the doors is the same as the regular E92/E90. i was going to change the trim in my 335i and i was looking at about 600-650 dollars out the door with install.

I think if piano black was an option at least 3/4 would get it making trim choice a bit boring as the other options are just...that...bad.

oh, and piano black is just too sexy

I was just curious why people think wood doesn't belong in a M3? I personally think wood is the only real option. It gives the car a much more refined and higher class look. You pay enough for the car, it should have a better interior than just plastic.
