I'm going to try again on Monday to see how I make out. If I have no luck, I'll hit you up. I'm going to print that PDF and bring it with me to the inspection to see what they have to say about it..

All these laws in MA are just ridiculous. It's my fucking car. I get the whole safety concern about tints but lowering my car isn't affecting anyone or even authorities in any type of form. Assholes I tell ya

I hear you.

CHP told me about the tint that a CHP Officer in the 1990s was killed in a routine stop when a driver had limo tint on his side windows and a gun in his left hand. Ever since that it was a law in California.

With lowering, Hawaii Police told me it is a safety concern when folks lower their vehicle and sometimes too much causing danger to people around you if you lose control of a lowered vehicle plus the roads are average in Hawaii thus causing damage to your car at a lower height.

Seems like a choice to me. But whatever. lol

Click on the right link that says "Inspection Regulation". Scroll down to page 12.

This is what it says according to them:

(13) Altered Vehicle Heights. The original manufacturers specified height of motor vehicles with an original manufacturers gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or less shall not be altered by elevating or lowering the chassis or body by more than two inches , except that four-wheel drive motor vehicles with a original manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or less may be altered in accordance with the provisions of 540 CMR 6.00. The Registrar may periodically provide approved altered vehicle height specifications for said four-wheel drive vehicles. Any motorvehicle altered, modified, or changed beyond the aforementioned two inches, or the Registrar's approved altered height specifications, shall be rejected.

I just grab a tape measure and it's about 5 inches of the ground from the chassis. I also measure the lip in the front and it's about 4 inches off the ground.
So ask the shithead at the inspection sticker where he gets that you lowered the car by two inches. Does he know the original height of the vehicle, and how would he prove that? Go to a different place than you did today. Don't deal with the same jerk offs.

Hawaii has this down pat.

They have a stock vehicle (center of the headlamp height) and can easily check the middle of your headlamp. If its lower than two inches, you fail. It's as easy at that.

Oh boy, gets worst. I hear a rubbing noise (when going through holes) from the driver side. EDC light came on out of nowhere too. I have a scheduled service on Thursday at BMW Tulley. I'm going for an oil change and an alignment. Should have them check that out as well.

Headlight are also up to the sky after lowering. Will need to get those adjusted.

Good thing I'm on vaca next week. Will spend Thursday just on her and unfortunately break the wallet that day

Remember you wont need to adjust them. Just switch the level the right way. I will dig up the link.

Here you go. Read this carefully. It happened with mine.

You will get this solved no worries. Hey at least you were not in my shoes a few months ago with that VF540 kit.

Kit is in sellable. I wouldn't nor could I give it away.

Never heard anything from VF. They just continue to say its for off road use only. Which is just retarded because why is a company in CA wit the strictest of emissions selling a product that cannot pass emissions to street users of their product.

Anyone buy the JBSpeed CF stuff? I haven't read any complaints about fitment/quality, and my current plan is to pick up their replica BMW splitters/CF spoiler and some reflector deletes. Opinions?

Lots of meets and events this upcoming weekend. I am planning on going to Herb Chambers C&C this Saturday at Flagship Motors in Lynnfield, MA, if anyone cares to join me. Will be driving down from York, ME.

Nice, what time did you plan on getting there? I assume you want to get there at or around 7am.

Who else is around or interested? We could meet some where along RT1 North in Saugus before heading over...
