I would very much like to change oil & oil filter myself in the next round. Seems an easy DIY and I will avoid being rapped by the dealeship on pricing for a simple task such as this.

But then how do I reset the diagnostics? I know I can do this with Bavarian Technic (or similar OBD software) but I am not sure if the investment can be justified with oil changes i.e. I might as well continue oil changes at the dealership.

I reset my 1200 mile service reminder without any tools. I will have to find the document I downloaded somewhere, but I just used the maintenance reset instructions for a different BMW (regular 3 series I think).

I just googled it up and did a simple reset via the accessory ignition setting and the control stalk. The reminder went away and reset to waht will be the 15K interval. Maybe someone else can chime in.....

ere you guys go!

PROCEDURE TO VIEW OR RESET SERVICE ITEMS IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER E90, E91, E92, E60, E61, E63 AND E64 Includes M Cars

Turn ignition to Terminal 15.
Press and hold the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button for 10 seconds.
The upper display in the Instrument Cluster will be illuminated with a Service Item (example: An oil can is the designation for Oil Service). The lower display in the Instrument Cluster will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for that Service Item (example: 14000). Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the Condition Based Service Items.
Press and hold the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button again and the lower display screen will indicate "OK" or "DUE".
Pressing the Instrument Cluster Set/Reset button again will allow the "RESET" to appear in the lower window for that service. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only. Repeat the procedure for any additional service reset needs.
Note: The CBS service items for both State Vehicle Safety Inspection and State Emissions Inspection cannot be viewed in the Instrument Cluster. These State Inspections can be viewed on the CBS Menu in the Control Display or by DISplus / GT1.

BAV is cheaper. They're $11.95 but then you have shipping. My total with shipping for 10 liters of oil, filter, 5 liters tranny oil and 1.5 liters of diff fluid and shipping was $471.50.

How much do they have in stock? I wouldn't mind picking mine up WAY early. No savings over ordering from BAV though.

They had about 15-16 bottles left. Actual price is $13.95 I thought I paid $13.50 but looked at the receipt and it is $13.95.

Salesman asked me if I know that I'm buying an M oil LOL. .Then he says, that I can only buy this if I had M car.

Ok I'm only going to type this once and if anyone wants to confirm it they can call them on there own

I purchased and 6 days later recieved 7 LITERS, yes 7 and a filter with the fixin's for 102 shipped to my APO from turnermotorsports.

So thats $14 per liter not calculating for the filter.

Does letting AAFES do your fluid changes void the warranty??? The CCC in Bamberg is good and has been doing my changes for the last 15 years with NO ISSUES. They do the full service on my X3.... but it is out of warranty so no harm, no foul.

Nope. By law anyone can do your servicing unless those services are provided free of charge. Since we have to pay for them here, you're good.

just a heads up for everyone, i ordered 4 cases of 10-60 from the KMCC autocenter, and only needed 2...(12 per case)((bought one for a friend)) so two are just sitting there @ 13.50 each.

And of course I'm stuck at BWI (missed yesterday's flight). Hopefully it'll still be there when I get back.

Whistle Dicks in Stuttgart don't carry it anymore. I ordered a case a while back that never came in, so I went to Bavarian. They don't have LL04 oil for my 335D either. May take a trip to K town this weekend. Stuttgart car care center sucks ass.
