Off to Germany for my Santorini delivery!
Well guys, after months of waiting I'm finally heading over to Germany to pick up my Santorini Blue E92 M3 to replace my Alpine White E92 M3 that was destroyed by hurricane Sandy in October. I'll be documenting the trip with my Canon 60D, 5D2, and Hero2 so there will be no shortage of media for my full write up when I get back. I'll try to update this thread while I'm over there as best as I can.
Having never seen a Santorini car in person I'm more than a little anxious to see it...

Thanks, I will! I'm sure I'll be talking to you guys when I get back. Gonna need a Santorini manifold on the ESS. Quote:
Thanks! I have't seen one in person yet, so I'm a bit anxious. Quite a departure from AW. I love this car in AW but I didn't want to try and rebuild my old car. Thank you!

I went with another DCT car. Being a die hard manual guy, I initially test drove a DCT so that I could make fun of the flappy paddle trans in an educated manner. That, however that backfired and I fell in love with it. Absolutely nothing like the feel of SMG II which is downright primitive in comparison and what I assumed DCT would be like. Previous cars (not counting a ton of SUVs): '95 318i (auto) '95 M3 (5MT) '91 Nissan Stanzarossa (5MT, beater) '99 M3 (5MT) '98 Integra GS-R (5MT, beater) '03 S2000 (6MT, best trans ever) '11 M3 (DCT)

European Delivery really is a fantastic experience - highly recommended. If you stay through the weekend the Nurburgring will be open for a proper German driving experience.

This sounds awesome. I hope I get to do Euro delivery, at some point. This time, I'm getting to do PCD, though. Consequently, does anybody have any tips on "capturing the moment? Like the OP mentioned, I'll have more camera "firepower" at my delivery than should be mentioned. But is there anything I should pay special attention to, as far as capturing that moment on film? I definitely want to get that first startup (from the back), and get a pic of that odo reading 1, or whatever it will be, by then, and then the person telling me all about my car. Anything else you guys are glad you "caught", or wish you did?
