glad to share. I would recommend for planning purposes to go on a weekday and hope its less crowded. The east face is more popular but i thought the west side going into Bormio was more fun drive and less cars.

Going down west face towards Bormio 4. Going down east face towards Vezzano What we did was stayed in Bormio at a ski chalet which also had its own nice twisty road. We drove from Garmisch Germany south and ended up on Umbrial pass eventually using Stelvio to get to Bormio. The next day we drove up Stelvio's west face, down the east face. turned around and went back to the hotel.

we tried to drive that road too but it wasnt quiet open when we got there.
