My commute is 2 miles each way through the city proper, which is annoying because it's low speed the whole way and the redline has barely moved to 8400 by the time I'm turning the engine off. So that's why I tend to walk to and from work unless the weather is bad, plus hey it's exercise. Ironically I actually get better gas mileage driving at high revs on all these great Hill Country roads out here, like 16 mpg compared to 9-11 mpg in the city.
In any case, an average 900 miles per month has me spending an average of $225/month on gas.
