Welcome to the funny farm. It's addicting, and all downhill from here, but it sure is fun.

Running in the next group was better for several reasons, 1) the drivers were faster and I didn't get stuck behind people quite as much, 2) there were more passing lanes which not only let me work on passing people in more than just the long straightaway, but also helped me become more aware of other drivers (better ones) around me that needed to pass me, 3) i think i improved even more as the people driving with me were a higher skill level than the previous group and it pushed me to become a better driver as well. All in all I had an absolutely fantastic time and have to say Roebling Road Raceway was a really fun track and the perfect one for me to start on with the abundance of run off room in the turns in case you make a mistake.

=/ I would really love to take my car out to a track event, but I'm scared shitless of crashing lmaoo. I know this sounds lame but I love driving, and I understand spiritual driving, but "race" driving is on a complete different scale. I would love to go to a track that has barriers that are FARRR away from the track road.
Do you have track insurance? And does anyone feel the way I do? EDIT: realized I should probably invest in an instructor

Roebling Road is a great first track. No elevation, easy corners. Very easy track to pick up. That was my first track ever. I've been wanting to get back down there now that I have more experience under my belt.

and you drive at whatever pace your comfortable with learning lines etc. Also the 2day M-School is a great introduction with their cars and top level instruction. I hear ya about the scary factor of tracks with close walls and barriers. I'm planning to stay well within my limits when there is low margin for error. Your not too far from Chuckwalla Valley Raceway which is an awesome track with nothing but dirt to run off into. ~Axis

I certainly did thanks to the quick shipping of the seller . Thanks again by the way, the exhaust looks great and sounds just as good (i will probably want it louder before long and will need to find the xpipe). I actually got several compliments from some of the guys at the track. It has a noticeably deeper tone in the lower rpms

OP... I totally understand where you're coming from in regards to being hooked on tracking! I did my first track event at Streets of Willow this past Saturday and I have to say that I can't wait to do my next track event which should be February 2nd!
Good luck with the new addiction and drive safe! |
