Despite that, it still sounds like it has asthma.

Two of the best sounding V10 ever.

In the cabin, the LFA is a lot louder than the Porsche Carrera GT due to 1000 rpm extra revs at the top (8400 rpm vs 9500 rpm).

Lexus LFA:

I must be in the minority because the Zonda R sounds ok, but not even close to the best. Too much generic noise.

The LF-A does sound epic, but to me its muffled by its price tag. Either way a really cool car.

But I just love the Zonda and CGT, especially when you hear that perfect CGT downshift.

But there are some other cars that sound incredible as well and dont get a whole lot of credit for it.

Obviously not. The only remarkable about the sounds from those cars is that of F/I - this is an exhaust thread.

In general though, I tend to prefer this hierarchy: V10 > V8 > V12
V8s don't have a constant exhaust flow, which has never sounded as good as the smoothness of an I6 or V12 to me.

Sounds like a lot of other N/A V12s with free flowing exhaust aka mechanical bee noise.

All of those sound 10x better than the Zonda imo.

It is subjective. But in the real world, you would have to go far to beat a K20 or a B18C6. I also like the induction noise of the S54.

Apparently very, very subjective.

I was seriously gonna post this myself, just couldn't find a vid to justify its holiness (was originally thinking of the vid with a meisterchaft M5 in the parking lot revving). So much win.

Sure you're not confusing the sound of straight gears with the sound of the exhaust? The mechanical bee noise is typically associated with that, not N/A V12s.

LFA stock muffler sounds better than that CGT even when it has aftermarket straight pipe IMO. The thing I like about the CGT is the bubbling on each shift, but that can only be replicate by true 6sp manual transmission.

so my ranking in term of sound is LFA > 599 GTO > CGT

that CGT driver drove like an idiot on the street though.
