Weirdly im .2 tenths slower on 275/35/18 hankook rs3's than on federal 595 RSR 265/35/18. Just tried them out this weekend and im surprised that the rs3's were slower even though they were wider, sadly the federals splice.

2 tenths can be accounted for by a million factors besides the tire. That level of consistency to be able to assert that is gonna be hard to find in a good pro.

The other consideration is that I'm pretty sure the insides of my front tires are still rubbing the springs even with a 5mm spacer.

So I'm thinking of getting a pair of 265/35 to run on the same wheels and still run 285/30 on the rears

Staggered tires on square wheels. That will definitely get rid of the rubbing and also allow me to experiment with smaller fronts

I think RS3s are shit on heavier cars.

Well my consistency staid around .2 / .4 seconds slower than on federals so im guessing thats pretty accurate. I know that it was their first session so they should be grippier next time.

I've never run either tire. I've only used ps2 and ad08 as a street tire on the track. Don't intend to use either unless standing water now.
