Cops

Ugg i got a ticket yesterday... by my house too!! the cop parket his car in a hidden street on the left. he was standing outside behind cars parket on the side of the street facing down a hill so you couldn't see him, i was going 41 mph and i was suposed to be driving 25 cause a residential area. when he clocked me in on his radar gun he just stood in front of the road and told me to pull over. most cops are hypocrites i see them speed all the time and zig zag through traffic when there sirens aren't even on. how much do you guys think the ticket is going to be??

p.s. there was two cops there and the guy behind me got a ticket too! do these cops make commission or something????

I know its my fault but it seems like they have nothing better to do.

maybe if you had kids you would understand how stupid it is for doing 41 in a residential area. If a child ran out in the street in front you doing 40+ there is no way you could stop in time. Save your speeding for the freeway or the back roads where no one is around. Let the flaming begin!

oh and Btw 50 in a 25 is reckless driving and they could take you to jail, and if I had to guess on your ticket I would say $300+

Does it have a court date on it instead?

I almost got one yesterday on I-15 southbound where the toll road meets up. I was in the fast lane doing about 80+ when I see the motorcycle cop parked using a radar. I hit the brakes fast and he just looked at me as I drove by. Whew, it was a close call.

Let's see. When you go to work and do your job, is it because you have "nothing better to do"? It's the police's job to enforce the laws. This includes traffic laws. The speed limits are set for a reason. In a residential area they are lowered because statistics say you have about an 80% chance of surviving being hit by a car going 30 mph whereas you've about an 80% chance of being killed by a car going 40 mph. It's lowered for a reason.

Two cops working in tandem. My guess would be that someone in the neighborhood reported someone going well over the speed limit, you earlier perhaps, and they decided that day was the day to check out the complaint.

On a open road a Cop with a radar gun can clock you from about 1/2 mile away, you can get a visual on him at say 1/4 mile away and a good radar detector can pick him up at 1-3 miles away on a straight and level road.

Top dogs: V1 and Escort Passport 8500 X50.

Passport's working on a 9500 version that sounds sweet but not sure when it'll be released yet.

you can always fight speeding tickets. even if you do decide to goto court, there's a chance that the cop might not show up, so in that case you would win and not pay for the ticket.
