I got a few questions .. sometimes when I stop and turn off the car, the interior lights don't go on (sometimes they do) and locks remain locked (they lock once I start moving) .. do I need to put in gear and parking break before turning off car again?

or is it suppose to work this way?

I have the keyless system .. I suppose if I plug in the key, it would probably work fine

regarding mods: at the moment I might do a slight stylizing ( carbon mirrors, black hood insets, maybe black grill) ... performance not just yet .. it's still more then enough

Check the settings in I drive. You can change the lights etc. there.

I have them all checked ... yet sometimes the lights don't lit up .. I really think it might be some "car exit" procedure ... it might also depend on if I turned on lights .. or have them on auto .. haven't checked it so much

but I haven't found anything about unlocking the locks when I stop the car/engine

so looks like the lights go on if I have my headlights set to Auto, Parking or Full ... when I have lights off .. the interior light doesn't go on when I turn the car off -but maybe it's suppose to be like this.

no clue about the lock to unlock though

do you guys go to a regular car wash? or do you hand wash it? (or let someone else hand wash it) ?

it's getting bit dirty

would be cool to have it polished so it's more resistant to have stains after rain .. not sure if there is anything that could help

I either do myself or have Eric at Envious Detailing in the OC do it. He's the best detailer I know of.

OP they use to make this slide out drawer that was bolted into the top of the trunk. I don't know if they sell it anymore, but this is what I use to put my manual and other car stuff in. Ou lose a little bit of trunk clearance, but it's well worth it.

I believe it may be discontinued but you may find something on eBay or have something custom made. Simple bracketry and light

either do it yourself or have someone who got good material and do a good detailing effort to do it.

Is that normal that on cold engine with low rpm (aroun1500,2000) and going pretty much with no throttle (going slowly downhill) I can feel the engine/car jerking for a bit ... if I apply throttle its ok,

is that something to be concerned about? or is that normal?

I'm starting to think about ordering some Mperformance parts

I'm thinking about black grilles (both kidneys + the vents in hood .. possibly the sidemarkers too)
was also thinking about carbon covers for mirrors - but lately I think it's just not worth the $$$

and of course the biggest thing is, I'd like to have black wheels, or some sort of dark ... but there's no point of bying the BMW ones .. too expensive and I would have to find buyer for mine .. so instead I'm thinking about having them painted

but I would like to paint them so they will last!

anyone has experience with either the BMW black wheels (how they last) vs painted ?

just great ... my neighbor dented my door .. the car is not even 3 months old and it's already damaged

I was taking it to a dealer for the break in 1200 miles service and they did an amazing job of fixing the dent using the paint less dent removal technique

however we probably didn't understood each other, because they didn't do any paint fix. And now I don't want to be taking the car to the service again, just to do the paint fix ( it's 40 miles away )

so I'm trying to find someone who will fix this ... or if you guys do have some recommendations of how I can do it myself??

I did buy those paint sticks to fix this kind of dmg .. however the problem is that the result is not all that great ... the paint did cover the area, but it's not smooth .. so I didn't apply the clear coat yet .... because I suppose it will be harder to fix it by professional if I do so.

normally I would probably let it go ... but for some reason, first scratch on brand new car ... I just don't want to let it go

any tips will be greatly appreciated

I have a question about those LED dials that illuminate as you approach shifting point

mine doesn't have that so I thought that this is no longer available, .. but then I saw it on friends M3 .. but he has the automatic transition ( not sure if the DCT)

is this something that will only work with automatic ?
not that I'm thinking to get it ( I bet it would be expensive) , but I was thinking to do some slight modifications to the instrument clusters - I've seen the RPM dials with "transparent" M logo, which I though would be nice replacement If I ever want to do anything with my dials ... also that plastic cover is scratched ( It was unfortunatelly scratched when I got the car, and I didn't notice it ) but it shoulnd't be expensive to replace it I'm sure * unless there is a way to "polish" it out
