I'd be interested in knowing if your gas mileage has changed, and the difference in revs at, say, 80mph on the freeway between the stock gearing and the new.

if you watched the video you can see that the difference in RPMs in not that big... it is only about 450 RPMs higher ... So far I drove 150 miles with it and my gas mileage didn't go down.

Sorry to jump in late here but can you share what the the stock diff ratio is compard to your new ratio and...1st gear is already about high enough - are you starting off in 2nd now?

I'd seriously consider this mod and driving up and back to DINAN in Morgan Hill would be a treat. I had no idea they were based in Morgan Hill!! Any word from DINAN on software packages for our M3's?

Also, since it's DINAN are you still covered by the DINAN extended warranty?

Stock one is 3.15 ... no I am still using my first gear, and so far had no issues with the traction ... I believe they are working on the software as we speak.

Yes, everything is still covered under the warranty !

Of course, his gas mileage has dropped, no matter what the OP says. You don't change the FDR without changing gas mileage.

I'm all for this mod. I'm putting the 4:10 in my 6MT this week, but I'll pay twice, once for the over priced Dinan parts and labor and at the pump for the rest of the time that I drive the M3. It's a solid performance mod.

I just had my 3.62 installed last Friday. Definately a great mod. I have not suffered "noticeable" drop in gas mileage yet because I am still in the break in period. There is definately better response now.

+1 - if you think about it, with a higher FDR, the engine will spin more revolutions to reach a given speed, hence consuming more fuel.

Of course it will also get there faster

For others considering the 3.62, don't pay full price: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226492
