US MSRP!!!

I got a call from my dealer about 5 minutes ago. My guy told me that he had additional information about the M3 (I have a deposit since mid 06) and point me to the Geneva show web site to check the pictures. What he said next surprised me…. he gives me the NOT official MSRP for the base as $53,975 + destinations charge $721

Options are: (NOT Official)

Metallic Paint: $475
Napa Lather: $1450
CF Trim: $300
Comfort Access: $500
Head on Display: $1,000
M Multifunction Seats: $1,900
Nav: $2,100
Base Wheels are 18” by 8.5” Option might be M6 style at $1700

He believes that the car will be on the states before the end of the year and he will call me as soon as he can start taking orders.

I think that the base price is very reasonable based on early discussions we had earlier.

The M3 will NOT have head on (Head up) display. There is no room for it, hence the shift lights incorporated within the outer chrome bezel on the rev counter, as seen in the concept pics from Geneva.

In which case I will take what this dealer says with a pinch of salt.

I am just the messenger. You guys can argue about space for head on display and whatever else you wish.

Do you guys know if there will be a luxury tax on the M3? I think there is on the 550i... that could factor into the price for me as well

There is no more luxury tax on cars in the US. Now, the M3 will almost certainly be smacked with a sizable gas guzzler tax, though.

Are you sure those lights around the tach aren't the variable redline that was in the E46M3? You know the ones that would gradually recede to the real redline as the oil came up to temp?

I spoke to my dealershp he said there is no update on MSRP at all BUT... They know that BMW is not plannin gon raising the MSRP more than 7-8 grand than the E46 ... so maybe your dealership is assuming with this news from BMW....

Also... your options list , didnt somebody say that there will be know Head up Display?...

Swamp any1 can I get clarification on this subject?

No HUD! Mofomat's right about the shift lights in the bezel. The variable redline is the same like in M5.

Best regards, south

Did you ask the dealer if ED is also available, any truth to the matter that either ED or US, its same delivery price?

Sounds pretty stinky to me

No one can really call official BS on this but the same points as always apply.

-Dealers will all get official pricing all at once and it is probably too early
-HUD is unlikely (if not impossible on the E92)
-$53k is too inexpensive for this beast, they can and will get mid to high 50s at least.

I hear you, though I'm think it's not too far fetched for the MSRP to be mid $50's then after adding SMG, NAV, PREM, CF, etc you're probably looking at another $10K or so.

I think the $54k MSRP is fairly resonable. Of course that number has been mentioned before. I am willing to bet it is within $1-$2k of that, if not right on.

NJ has a luxury tax. The amount tacked on for gas guzzler might give us an indication of how many M3's will be produced initially. The EPA determines the tax based on engine specs and how many vehicles with this engine will be produced.

I, too, think it will be in the Mid-$50s ($54-56k). Of course, 10k minimum in options for most, 20k possible.
