Washing / Detailing your cars (Melbourne)

Hi guys,

Do you guys generally wash yourself of having it professionally done? If you get it done, where do you go?

Or.. Alternatively, if you do it yourself, which products do you use and what is your general approach. I am looking at sourcing a foam gun off eBay for the applicator, but am open to suggestions.

If any one here wants a "professional" job, Mario is your man!

On a recent job, he spent 63 hours on a Jaguar XK140.......if that's not dedication, I don't know what is....

He is not cheap but he is the best in Australia......no doubt

Or on a slightly different topic, could I get away with a Wash + Wax for my new car for $200 or under?

At the moment i am paying for a standard wash at $40 but am not happy with the amount of swirls I am getting (On AW!)... I don't want the same for the next car, but if it's too hard to outsource it I will just stock up, wash the car less frequently, but wash it myself.

I assume there are no more water restrictions in Melbourne?

I think we can once again - Pressurised water systems like Karchers are permitted.

Mario did a paint correction detail earlier this year for me. Results of the paint correction were good but I wasn't 100% happy for the money as there was a significant amount of polish residue left over the side skirts, under the door handle area and some in between the panel gaps This was something i did not expect given his reputation of being the best which swayed me towards him in the first place.

I stress that this is my experience only and many others swear by his work...
