ESS VT3-700 Supercharged, SSP DCT Clutch Discs Installed...
Thought this was worthy of it's own thread.
So now with 600whp, over 400WTQ and more boost to come, the clutch was starting to slip, you can actually hear it in the below speedo vid, between the shifts. The car went back to ESS a few weeks ago for a few more upgrades, one of which included the SSP Kevlar DCT clutch discs. BIG THANK YOU to Kris and Jeremy from SSP, can't wait to run the car with this new clutch of yours at the upcoming shift-s3ctor airstrip event, this product is so important and imperative for those with DCT and FI, looking for more reliable big power. You can see from a few of the pics, the stock clutch discs were worn, along with some burn marks, not terrible, but needed an upgrade for sure. They also looked over the entire tranny and it was in great condition. Here's some pics -

With normal use the VT2-625 kits and below have no problem working with the stock DCT transmission. We do not offer the VT2-650 to DCT customers unless they run our DCT performance software as the power the 650 kit makes takes the stock transmission software to its limits when pushed hard. We are looking forward to testing this product on Drews car as it would be a nice option to have for high HP DCT M3's.

Will you be tracking at all? Kevlar is not a good material if you're looking to run the car hard for extended periods of time. When they start to overheat they stick, which does not allow you to shift into the next gear. In a 6spd its not as big of a problem, just pump clutch and it'll release. I don't think the DCT will be very happy when that happens.
Speaking from experience. |
