US Build Dates from a planner

I was at my dealer today and he had talked with the planner here in Germany

US Spec Cars Build dates"
"Production will start 12/07 but these slots will be used for launch events, media information etc. We will have production before 04/08 but not by much. There will also be a 4 door version but He would not give us the production dates"

He has been very accurate in the past so I would expect a Spring launch in the US. I am really interested to find out what if anything they do to freshen the Sedan, Maybe the M will lead that.

that means Launch would be in May or June if production starts a little bit before April

Well, if production starts "before 4/08", that could mean March with the first US deliveries in April. That might coincide with the DCT introduction, which I' sure BMW would like to offer in the States from the start. My dealer had also tole me 12/07 start of production a while back, but he didn's say that was for demos, though you know those will be first. With the E46 M3, I believe the demos were built around 1/01 and the first customer cars started coming about April. Got mine 6/01.

Hard sucks. BMW better make it a MY09. Well, guess this allows me to put my deposit in a 6 month CD and have it out intime, plus a little extra, for the purchase.

How is this new information? Spring to summer of 08 for delivery was always the going date.
