Powder coating OEM 19" rims-Thoughts?
I am driving a Jet Black M3 and I want to mod things but keep most of it OEM. I am thinking of powder coating the inside of the rim black, but leave the outward facing spokes alone and keep them the polished silver.
I like the look of the silver against the black but the rest of the car is going to be blacked out and I want to do something different. Has anyone done this? If so, could you post pics? I am open to any thoughts. |

Fort Collins... I like the idea, even more I'd like to see it in person if you ever get it done.. I've been in Fort Collins since Sept. I've yet to see a ///M3 on the road.. I barely even see any BMWs...

There are some pix of just what you're describing, probably in the wheels forum.
That said, I think it's too similar to what the OEM 19s are already - they are dark grey inside and polished on the surface. Colorado represent!

These are my 19's powder coated a similar grey to the inside of the rim of the oem wheels. I too wanted a very stock like look, but I hated the brushed/clear coated aluminum face.

Haha thanks guys, these pics were from a Rainy meet we had in Socal last Friday. My official photoshoot was supposed to be yesterday but its rainy as hell, so it will have to be rescheduled.
But im very happy with my wheels. No one had really done a similar-to-oem grey. Im very happy, most people cant tell. True M people will see the nice, custom touch it brings to my Space Grey M. |

Kinda like these? I really like this set! You should totally do black all around except just the face of the spokes all the way to the edge of the wheel.
By the way, im in Denver so if you get it done I want to see em.

I'll let you know. I'm still kicking the idea around, whether I want to do it or not. But if I do I'll let ya know. Happy holidays all!
