Brake issues post track day

I recently spent a day at the track on my oem brake system. I went easy on them all day and they were ok. I left the track with no pad deposits or wobbles whatsoever. During the ensuing weeks of easy daily driving my brakes have started to increasingly wobble like they are accumulating pad deposits after the fact. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks!

Just a guess here. While driving on the track you actually got some brake pad transfer however it was evenly distributed. Since driving it on the street you have scraped some of the transfer off the rotors causing uneven braking and wobble.

All track driving get the rotors hot, do you probably did get some pad transfer.

Just speculation on my part.

Seems very logical and likely. If this is the case, continued street driving should eventually remove the pad transfer. Thanks for your thought.

I agree, drive it a few more weeks and see if it gets better. When I had this happen to me, I would occasionally drag the brake for about 15 or 20 seconds with my left foot cruising down the highway to accelerate the "cleaning" of the rotors.

When I had stock brakes, my experience was similar to yours. Right after track the brakes would be fine, but after a while the wobble starts to get worse. It should come back to normal after a few days.

it`s still under warranty so why not take it to the dealer? I had my front pads and rotors replaced no questions asked.

I found doing bedding drills helped smooth out the wobble. I can't say if it made it faster because I don't have the "control" data of not doing this.

It should go away after a few days of daily driving.

If not bring it to the dealership, my service adviser replaced both my front rotors after I came back from a time attack event (even though I had HP Plus). You have no idea how much I miss BMW Warranty especially if you have a good service adviser.

I to have suffered from pad deposit issues both on oem and brembo brakes after track days. Fortunately for you its a super easy fix. Remove each wheel and wipe down both sides of the entire rotor surface with a rag moistened with windex or similar glass cleaner. Works like a charm with little effort and completely takes care of the problem. I know sounds too simple, right? I was doubtful as well before I tried it. But it really does work.
