You stick the key in the door and turn it the way you would to lock the doors but you keep it there for a few seconds. The windows will start to roll up then.

Interesting. I wonder why they didn't make the lock button on the remote do this as well, since the traditional key is not supposed to be used much with this car, if at all (you only really need it if the battery is dead or there is an electric malfunction).

the key is also a valet key to protect ur belongings you dont wanna bring w/ you when you park valet or take it to a car wash, etc.

I think that is a restriction imposed by your authorities in that part of the world. The E46 (in South Africa) does open windows with the unlock button, and it also closes them with the lock button. I expect the E90 to continue with those features here.
