Free price mark-up market?
So got up too early on Saturday morning and feeling bored as I started to check up on autotrader for fun while I was having my breakfast. I was surprised to see many M3 priced over $100k/$110k and those are not from some crazy private sellers think their car are worth more money after they put on some mileage. Those ads are from dealers especially in Alberta. Makes me wonder is they are all charging buyers more because they pay less tax ( we pay 12% here in BC and they pay 5% maybe?) if so, that will make sense because quite often I hear people coming to BC to buy cars from Alberta. (also saw a new m6 listing for something like $160k...@@) anybody know what's going on out there?

I wouldn't be able to afford a M3 if my dealer asked over $100k. But those dealers there are still in business after years so I'd assume some people just don't care the way they spend their $$$. I remembered when I was selling my car, someone suggested me try Alberta so I could get some better $$$. Now I finally understand.

Edmonton BMW always has ridiculous pricing and when you try to negotiate and work out a deal they will hardly move at all. I always buy private. |

All the ones in excess of $100k are individual cars in unique colours such as Dakar yellow for example. The prices quoted are the MSRP prices and the vehicles are loaded right up including competition package, gloss black trim pieces and the like. Teh asking price includes full retail MSRP for the base car, individual colour and all optional packages and DCT. As with anything else, the asking price is merely the MSRP and is subject to negotitaion (I would hope).
As has been pointed out, a "base" M3 is still available in Calgary or Edmonton in and around $70K.... A |
