Sometimes I leave it in a little while before pulling it out.
A few times I've noticed a gurgling noise just before it goes off.

you should pump as fast as you can for two minutes and then you are done. oh, wait, leave the nozzle in for a few seconds after you finish because sometimes it drips after you are already done.

Just getting going actually. Everybody has been so damn uptight lately we need a release and a good pumping is just what the doctor ordered

We are in one of the states that does not allow you to pump your own gas. State law. When I was in Washington I pumped it like have done all my other cars.

53 asshat responses. Good times, but not even close to the forum record for a single thread.
OP, when I've had trouble, usually at Shell which have a different pump design, I've found the trick to be making sure the bottom connection on the rubber boot is good. It doesn't have to be a tight seal, it's like you're hanging the pump on the lower lip of the opening. Doesn't always work, but nine times out of 10. |

I sometimes have to give it a bit of a wiggle and a twist till it hits the sweet spot... (probably have a smaller nozzle than others) Also give the tip a little tap at the end to shake off any drips.
