DCT SW flashes coming soon through Evolve-R

Due to many requests from our customers we are just beta testing our DCT software which will be delivered through the Evolve-R OBDII cable.

This will be offered free of charge to existing Evolve customers.

That sounds great...If I order the Evolve-R tune for my M3 E92 and E39 M5 in the next couple of days, do I qualify as an exisiting customer to get the the DCT software for my M3 ?

I keep seeing these DCT software updates but what is improved on? My only complaint is it takes a little time to engage when you initially choose a gear. You have to wait 2 second before the gear is actually engage.
I think ESS says their software allows the tranny to run cooler.

Anyways, this is awesome customer service from Evolve.

I'm crossing my fingers that this has shift-speed memory. If I set my DCT to S5, shut off, and start the next day, I hope it starts in S5...hehe...All the other potential extra features are just bonuses to me

I just loaded the ESS DCT software and I've heard the BPM one does also. Unfortunately, those aren't free of charge for existing customers

A little bit of a dilemma here which is being caused.

Other companies are charging for this or something similar. It might be completely different, we do not know. There is nothing wrong with this, no one knows the efforts they had to make or how much time they had to put in to get this done.
So if I could ask for people not to make the comparison.

Our reasons for offering it free of charge are that we had to spend literally no time on this. The software is available to us and we do not modify it. It's literally a case of emailing it across.

If we find we are spending a lot of time on each case then we may implement a small charge just to cover our time which as you can imagine is not going to be much at all.

This community has been very good to us. Sometimes it's time to give back something to the community.

We have done this with every community. Sometimes in the way of free options and sometimes technical information. Free DME software updates are also part of what we do.

The software that will be available will be GTS and Euro DCT.

What we will not do is tell you that we have changed something when we have not.

The developer of the iFlash is trying to implement an easier delivery method.
At this point we would need to apply a license update to each and every cable. This is time consuming and requires the generation of many key strings.
It may be the case that individually coding is the only way forward.

We should know very soon if the easier method of coding is available. If not then individually coding will be the only method.

well ESS did say their DCT software is based on the GTS DCT
so the question is whether the modification to the GTS DCT is enough to justify the price they charge
