By the way everyone, tested Euro MDM mode on my friends E92 M3 DCT yesterday, and it was AMAZING. Huge difference over the dummed down MDM that we have here. It would actually let me 'drift' through corners without overly-limiting the car. It was quite a thrill. I highly recommend it.

could you post a video?

Is there any way to code the stereo mode button on the wheel or one of the programmable buttons as a second M Button w/ different settings? Also, Is there a way to keep both US & Euro MDM after its coded?

aka_phox: I will try to post a video. I haven't had any time to even code it to my own car, but was more than plesantly surprised with it when I tried it on a couple of friends M3's. I also have to recode my car for LCI etc, getting all of the errors now because I am retrofitting start-stop for fun, so right now I am down on my own features.

JRollSP: No way to have both concurrently, but I can gurantee that after you have the Euro one, you will not want the USA one. You can turn DSC back on if you want it to be really limited again

Sorry everyone for the slow replies on emails/PM's. I have so many things to share with you guys, and need to make an updated coding list and remote coding FAQ. Also want to share my complete CIC retrofit with everyone, but time is my biggest constraint now.

I will get back to everyone by the weekend and stay 'tuned' for updates!

Thanks!
Mike

PS: I will be offering full CIC retrofit kits, so be on the lookout for this. Just had to make sure everything worked 100% perfect/flawlessly on my own car before I offered it to those on the forum.

That's for the reply Mike. I know you coded one of your steering wheel buttons as your Nav night mode. Is there any way to code the stereo mode button on the wheel or one of the programmable buttons as a second M Button w/ different settings? Kinda like the new F10 M5

Added FAQ, and cleaned it up quite bit.

Second phase to the list will be up there in the next couple weeks.

Sorry to all that have PMed and Emailed, still getting to those. I responded to everyone up to April 1st, hoping to be through the rest tomorrow.

I'm glad you are enjoying the new features and LCI with no errors or fast blinking

On a side note:
I am working on retrofit looms for Combox and CIC conversions. It will all be 100% plug and play - no wire cutting/soldering, etc..

(Bare with me on the response to emails and PM's... sorry for the delay guys!)

Stay tuned for more updates - but in the meantime, here are a few teaser pics of the installation in my car (Added CIC/Combox/Snap-in/Video/Plugin etc..) Keep in mind this is a 2008 m3 with more functionality activated than a 2012 model. This has been working 100% flawless in my car for over a month now, just haven't had a chance to post up the pics:

Sorry for the low quality - they were iPhone shots I took along the way. When I have some time, I will create a separate thread on this, as well as the info for the retrofit. But for now I wanted to share here

AWESOME, Mike. Aside from all the coding, I really like your car. It looks EXACTLY the same set up as my car in 2011. Whenever I miss my old set up, I just click this tread and look at yours instead LOL. Looking forward to schedule coding for Euro MDM with you once I get back from London

That sounds fun.

Question: Does this mean there are actually four versions of MDM out there: US MDM, US MDM for ZCP, Euro MDM, Euro MDM for ZCP? Or are there just two flavors, and all Euro cars actually have the same MDM? As I am typing this, I vaguely remember now something about the Euro ZCP cars not getting the enhanced MDM mode that the US did. They even have a different option code as I recall it. So I guess, if all their cars had the same enhanced mode from the get-go, that would explain all of this.

Also, having seen what you did for rhouck with the first known successful MDrive retrofit, I am very interested in that too. But I don't have iDrive which will mean more testing and other potential pitfalls. I will PM you more about this and get your thoughts.

Sorry guys.. still havent had any time to respond to emails since the beginning of April.

I am working on some really cool stuff.. and buried with clients.

I will update the thread soon and respond to all of the posts above..

For now I am trying to retrofit a DCT cluster into my 6MT for shift lights!!

Bear with me, once the air clears I will be able to help everyone more efficiently.

Feel free to send me PM's/emails in the interim and I will get to them.

I'm interested in the answer to this question as well.
Is SAT Radio an add-on, or can it be activated?

There appears to be two versions of MDM: USA and none USA. It looks like the ZCP has the none USA MDM. I recently coded my car to disable the USA MDM (i.e., enable Europe MDM) and the results are very nice I tested my M3 at the track and my car goes sideways but without spinning out. The steering wheel is also a lot more active than before. For those that don't want to turn off traction control, disabling the USA MDM mode is the way to go

According to Mike, it appears there are (at least) three versions:
