Replacement Amp Options
So I believe my amp has gone out due to a leak, and I need a new one. In looking online, I have not found a new one with the same part number: 65127845163 or just 7845163 other than one busted one on eBay. I HAVE seen some with the same description and look, called "TOP-HIFI M F07 Verst", or without the Verst part, so are they going to work? It seems like there are a lot of part numbers that all look the same, can anybody give me a hint here?

There are a couple of different plug designs for the OEM EPS amp... the earlier amps have a different pin plug than the later ones. I ordered a new replacement amp before and they only have the newer design. The newer one is compatible... but you will need to repin the plug and use a new connector. I ended up just buying a used amp off of eBay that has the same plug.

EPS is not made by Lear.

The amps all say Lear on them. DIRAC is the company that does the tuning but the hardware is made by Lear.
Here's a thread I had about the amps from before: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=936672

I forget what the EPS means, but I have the yellow cones I think, and I want to say the 16 speakers. If the amp LOOKS the same, will it work, or are ones that look the same, same plugs, same fan, etc going to work? Are there year ranges for cutoffs? Like an '08 or '13 amp wont work on a 2011?

If you have the yellow speaker cones then you have EPS. There were a few other audio systems available for the M3... Base audio is powered by the radio deck. Harmon Kardon was available and powered by an amp in the trunk. EPS is also powered by a amp in the trunk. There are no strict cut offs by year. All EPS amps will work with each other, they just need to be repinned and possibly have the connector changed. Your best bet is to get an amp that has the same connectors as your EPS amp so it is plug and play replacement.

If you have HiFi, head on over to: Technic Harness site
Then pick up an JL XD600/6 amp and you'll have better sound at a good price.

No arguments here. Either is more suitable than the stock amp.
