I had no idea of this and have no idea if true. Sounds possible. My Eisenmann Race is a 12/08 build and sounds wonderful.

Not sure but some people on this forum are complaining theirs is too quiet and others are finding too loud, so maybe there's something to it. Someone else on this thread with a black series compared with others and found his was much louder. Mine is also a black series and loud as hell.

The black series are not as common and they might still be based on the old louder design. Also black in general is bad ass so they ought to be louder

Eisenmann changed their plaque design over the years so we can't compare that. Mine says "R-1" after the part number (5267), for what it's worth.

That should tell you how subjective exhaust sound can be.

Yeah I would think so but in this case someone actually compared multiple eisenmann race exhausts and heard the difference.

I live in the boonies so I have nobody with a similar setup to compare with. I just know that if mine was any louder my ears would bleed.

Just my two pennies here...I just installed the Akra Evo w/ Carbon tips. It doesn't get any better than that! Not too loud, almost not loud enough (until you hit the throttle) at low r's it grumples at mid roars and at highs its perfect. Keep you low on the radar as well.

Pair it with a catless x-pipe and you should be good to go!

There have been no internal changes to the Sport or Race performance levels since the system was released. I see Sport and Race levels everyday at work on new shipments

I would have thought so to be honest, lowering the db level of the race surely would just mean there is no point in having a sport version lol?

After a couple more weeks with the Eisenmann race I'm appreciating this exhaust more and more. The drone doesn't seem as bad as it was initially, not sure if it's going away or if I'm getting used to it, crazy thing.

Something I really like about it is that it doesn't become obnoxiously loud as the RPMs climb, actually the exhaust volume in the cabin goes down a little, and tone becomes more defined at higher RPM, actually similar tone to stock but still louder and more exotic. It also allows the engine to be heard which is so intoxicating as we all know.

Really impressed by the personality of this exhaust!

...you see. Patience is a virtue. I agree with everything you wrote. This is clearly the best rear section we can buy IMHO. Enjoy.

Hey fellas, do any of you have the cold-start delete? I'm seriously contemplating the E Race but I DD and am concerned about it being a little too loud during start-up at the office, etc.

I've watched every E Race video I can find an embarrassingly large number of times, but it's hard to get a good feel for the true decibel level and I haven't had a chance to hear one in real life.

I don't have cold start delete. Not necessary IMO.

Well, after taking the Eisenmann off because of the louder than expected volume, I looked more closely at the connection between muffler and connecting pipes, and on one side the connecting pipe is out of round and too small.

This was causing my small exhaust leak, and I'm sure was causing additional vibrations and drone since I can move the connecting pipe freely even with the clamp tightened to the maximum.

The other side is fine.

Not sure who made this connecting pipe, but I contacted my original reseller to get a replacement, will keep you guys updated.

Can't wait to try this bad boy again with connecting pipes that fit.

Exhaust is back-on! Connecting pipe is fixed, thanks to local exhaust shop. Very stable this time, most of the leak is gone, just a small one left by one of the notches, will have to look into that or just weld the pipe.

After driving the car with stock exhaust for a few days, it's amazing what a difference the eisenmann race makes! Still loud as hell but it sounds sooo good!

Once you've had race... its hard to have anything else Felt kinda bad after I assured you of the glorious sound and found out you had second thoughts. Looks like its breaking in and you're liking it. My black series had about 3000 miles on it when I bought it. The break in was already done.

glad you're happy!

I had a momentary lapse of reason taking it off. On the other end I used the opportunity to get one of the pipes fixed and got rid of some vibrations and an exhaust leak, so it was not a complete waste of time. It's on the loud side but the sound it makes is absolutely fantastic!

I am in the same boat as well. I always have cold start delete on my cars just bc of my neighborhood and since I leave for work or golf super early every morning. I still have yet to hear a race in person at idle or slow acceleration, I have only heard the race cruising on the HWY in a caravan. I would be curious what people who own the exhaust can say about the sound at warm idle or cold start delete is like and also what it is like taking off early in the morning at low low rpm/speed

Had to chime in here. Bought a used race off of Gixxer_Kid over a year ago (wow has it been that long?)....

As he lives 2hrs from me, the drive home was pretttty obnoxious. I've had exhausts before but never one this loud. As I drive 6MT, I immediately realized it was not really possible to do 80 in 6th gear...

I could do 80 in 5th gear with minimal drone (applies anywhere from 68mph or more)
Or I could do 85 in 6th gear.

After looking back on that time now, my ears have adjusted to the point where the drone just doesn't bother me anymore. Sometimes if I am in the car for a very extended period, i'll sometimes focus on it and THEN it bothers me. But if I ignore it and stick to the correct gears, I find no problem.

This is such an awesome exhaust to use on the streets (vs. highway). The monstrous fury that is the low end burble when you hit the gas is intoxicating. Then as the sound blends into a higher pitch, you feel yourself coming back again and again for that progression as it's so unique.

While I am considering a switch to a (lesser droning) Akra Evo system, my purposes for doing so are strictly boredom. I could keep the Eisenmann on for the life of the car and would never look back.

Does anyone else notice any small blips/backfires from the muffler when they shift with this exhaust??

Im not sure if its because it was installed incorrectly or if it makes that noise because of the fast DCT shifts.
