Me too man. +1000 (however I wish I had one. You do!)
Can you imagine him using the word "poser" toward a 911 owner? What a douche!

I think a poser could end up in a 911.
I think someone who just wants a Porsche sports car, without knowing anything about them, could easily end up in a base Carrera or even a Turbo if they have the budget. Definitely no posers in GT3's. I'll bet very few that buy a Carrera for the first time have ever even test driven a Cayman. |

love the cayman, had such high hopes for the R, if it had a bit more juice it would be in my garage - it will never get that power, so there goes that dream
op, what did u decide. for me, its either 2012 gtr or to the porsche game. im kinda gtr leaning (keeping the m, for 6 speed NA fun)...

its going to be a dd, and i miss the feeling of being pegged in the back of your seat scared. i need some luxury in a dd, so the R would be stupid for me - i.e nav , etc. if it were a dedicated track car, i am with you, and dont care about hp/tq. just tell me the weight.

If I was going to order one new, I would just spec an S the way I want it, unless the suspension in the R was that much better. I'm going CPO '09 myself, will be ready in about 6 months when it's time to turn by 335i in. |

E9X M3 6M = Cayman S
E9X M3 DCT + ZCP = Carrera GT

If you meant a Carrera GT as in CGT, then obviously this is a joke and a very very funny one. If you meant equal to any GT car (i.e. GT3, GT2) or the lesser GTS (not a GT car) then you are simply wrong and wrong by a long shot.

My guess for the 991 S: 3.8 with 420 hp and 75-100 lbs lighter than its predecessor. I'm curious to learn what the 991 gt3 and RS will be: MY2013 or MY2014, 4.0L, PDK option, a few pounds lighter and 480 and 510+ HP, respectively. |

Hi. Iīd like to start off with one explination which one day I will probably post as a new thread in here. Porscheīs & M3īs are really fantastic cars and are both beautiful drives but a lot of people (Iīm gonna get stoned for this now) try to compare two very different philosophies with each other. WHY: 1. Porsche is not at all a very practical car - M3 where as is. The Germans have the expression called "die Eierlegende Wollmilch Sau" which for a lack of better translation means - an Egg laying wool milk pig.. An expression which is to convey the message that the car is an over all roundabouter. It has been developed to near sports car levels but just is not one. An M3 performs a lot of duties admirably but can do none really perfectly, which is why it is so loved. Think of it, you can drive really very long distances (500 miles +) on one shot with your M3 & still get there quite relaxed and have all the comfort in the world still right at your demand. 2. A porsche is a real sports (not super sport or race !) car with a road worthy certification. The aerodynamics on the car alone speak this language. I am phisically designed to do what I look like. I am low, broad & looking to be move for what I was builded for. Letīs be honest: A porsche has two seats for a reason. Itīs a sunday car for the nice drives in the mountainous serpentines and track days. Shopping?? yeah if you are a reall show off that needs to get your gallon a milk with 300+ HP Here a porsche is just too obvious.. Jim , itīs amatter of what YOU want to do with the car you purchase and what your looking for. Your expectations in what the car has to perform & do is the real choice maker here. I have been looking into Porscheīs 911 Classic Sport, GT3, GT3RS , GT2 & GT2RS recently and have personally decided that whilest they all be great sport cars they just miss that certain level of comfort and variablity that my M3 E92 has and cannot compare. A normal 911, Targa, Carrera, S, 4S and so on are the more relatable cars and the M3 can hold up to these any day with advantages I admit, but: if your going for a Porsche I just see no reason why not to go for it properly. Resume: M3 is a wonderfull GT with sports ambitions & every day usablility. Great for Highway long hauls and city travelling. 911 is a sports car applicable on the street but belongs on the serpentines and tracks. Fun gun for the weekends.
