2011.5 iDrive - Google Search Question

When searching for POIs, one of the choices is Google Search, not to be confused with BMW Search. I know BMW Search you need the Convenience package added to your BMW Assist account, do you need the same thing to use Google Search? The BMW Assist agent I spoke to wasn't sure and I haven't been able to get it to work on the car nor find any documentation that tells me one way or another. Anyone know?

I'd like to add to the OP...

I also wonder about this. I have the "BMW Search" (BMW Assist) powered-by Google in some areas, but I also want the "real" internet access via your cell phone and the ability to enter adhoc URLs. I've seen the videos of it on YouTube being demonstrated. How do we get that? My M3 is a 2010. Do we just need iDrive updates? How do we ask the dealerships for the proper updates?

BMW Search = Google Search = $199 a year

Just try to use it, most probably a prompt will show up saying that you must purchase the Assist Convenience Plan to go further.

Your iDrive do have MyInfo, when you can send addresses from the Internet to your Nav, though.
