iPhone 4 - not auto connecting to idrive bluetooth
Just picked up an 08 M3 and I programed the phone to idrive for bluetooth and "Zoeb's iPhone" shows up, but it doesn't even connect by itself
I have to go into the iphone menu and turn bluetooth off and on for it to connect I even click on "BMW 33112" when it says "not connected" and that doesn't do anything Anyone else have this issue? |

iphone issues
I have a '11 e92 with idrive and an iphone4. Initially phone recognized idrive but would not connect. So I tried a hard restart on my iphone and everything has worked flawlessly since then.

When you're initially syncing it asks something along the lines of "don't prompt again". Something to that effect. click that and it should auto sync from then on.

Yea this happens to me on a regular basis. Not that much of a PITA. Once the car has warmed up, ie all computers are up and running... Put your iPhone4 in airplane mode for only a quick second. When the phone "talks" again, it generally fixes the problem for me every time.
Hope this helps.

I had a bunch of pairing issues (still do to some extent)...I disconnected the battery cables. I believe that forces a complete reboot of the bluetooth module. In my case it helped...I was able to pair my phone afterwards.

The iphone 4 is having huge issues with bluetooth connectivity. No updates are helping it. My dad has had his replaced about 3 times and still no luck. His will connect to his headset but always drop the connection or just get very staticky. Its most likely the phone and not the car

could be the phone....but I've had about 4 different devices (iphone, bberry, android, etc) and all have had trouble pairing with the car's bluetooth...in my case it's the damned bluetooth in the car. Disconnecting the battery cables for about 15 minutes and hooking back up helped with the pairing. However, as mentioned in a separate thread I still have lots of background noise issues when on a call.
