What about the combo of DVD in motion and a rear backup camera? Doesn't alekshop's package have that?

Only if you get Aleks's dvd player. If you want to use the OEM DVD player you MUST add the EAS piece to bypass the lockout.

I found that out the hard way after Aleks lied to me and said his piece would remove the lockout. It wouldn't have been a big deal but he needed a bypass for another of his customers so I gave him mine for a discount on his product. I bought mine preowned but unused in the classifieds for $80 less than retail so unless I can find another one for that price his lie will have cost me $80. Thanks Aleks.

There are only 2 wires cut for installation, it is very simple for those that have minor +12V audio experience.

When a DVD is playing, the Options menu will give you the option of changing the audio decoding, with one of the selections being Dolby Digital 5.1. Check it out...

I bought and installed the TV In Motion module myself almost a year ago now. Really the only gripe I found were with the provided connectors - they didn't hold the spliced wires together well enough.

I had to remove the multimedia unit several times while trying to reinstall it because the wires would come loose from the connectors. I almost lost a connector into the car body after it fell off during one of the attempts.

I also had some clearance issues putting it back in but I think that had more to do with the cable connecting the multimedia kit/rear view camera module to the Spec Dock in the ashtray (for my iPhone).

I've only used the DVD player once. Being able to watch videos directly from the iPhone has negated the usefulness of playing DVDs (for me).

I have the Multimedia Kit/Rear View Camera from Menthol Guy and the Spec.Dock (from specdock.com) that replaces the ash tray so I can have my iPhone in a more accessible spot than the center armrest or glovebox.

I can watch movies (and play music) on the nav screen from my iPhone. I have to control it from the iPhone (which is why it needs to be accessible) but Menthol Guy has the latest kit which allows access to your iPhone through iDrive, ie. you can see your iPhone screen with all it's apps on the nav screen. He showed me on his car.
