Silverstone Owners....

Not that it really matters because my SSII car is waiting for a boat but this question is for SSII owners and SSII owners..... Are these "sea foam green" comments just the opinion of a few people that have seen the car under an off color cloudy sky? I have seen the car in person twice outside and I never noticed it but now that I am obsessed with these posts I have noticed it in one or two pics . So people who OWN SSII, I am curious to hear how the car looks 90% of the time.

I am not an owner, but the pics of reverse's vert show the light blue glow I have seen when looking at the car several times under different lighting conditions at the dealer. It is a pretty accurate picture to judge the effect by IMHO.

An owner will have to chime in on how much it is like that but would imagine that depends on where you live. Here in sunny AZ it iw going to be almost everyday. It turns mostly silver at night and under inside light in the showroom.

I've seen them 4-5 times outdoors at dealerships. I always liked the color and never noticed it looking green. It is a light color and with the metallic it should reflect more of the surrounding color (like an old silver mirror). If it's in the middle of a bunch of trees I could see it appearing somewhat green but I would imagine it's reflected color and not the color of the car.

The color is silver with a hint of blue. Depending on the light it changes how much blue you can see. I've had people tell me it is silver or silver-blue but never green.

I was worried too but the color is stunning and I am very happy with my choice.

That's what i am expecting. If under a weird sky every so often it looks a little green i would be ok but these freakin forums keep me up at night. Thanks.

A light , VERY light baby blue. I just checked outside due to this post, but will not drive since I've had a bottle of red already (damn, it was hard to contain though!).

This is under direct sunlight as well. Sexy color, next to IB.

SSII rules lol, and damn me for being a drunkard or else I would be driving

I agonized over my choice of SSII every other day waiting for the boat to get here from Germany. I ignored the "seafoam" green comments online; I never saw that in any of the photos I saw. I was more concerned with it being a true baby blue. When I finally got the car I realized I'd worried myself wrong; the color is fantastic. No green. Under indoor lighting it is very silver. Outside, slight blue to it, and cloudy skies sometimes bring out more blue. Very happy with it.

SS11 is a fantastic color choice that I occasionally regret not ordering. I think it is human nature to question choices in an expensive purchase. I was relieved when my car went into production because that whole thought process is now over.

Dont' sweat it - its a fantastic colour. I was doubting my decision momentarily too after I saw it at the Toronto Auto Show under crappy indoor lighting. But I love it since taking delivery. Brilliant silver in sunlight, a hint or more of blue on cloudy days. It can look more blue under indoor parking garage lights but never green IMO. Its a light enough colour that you can see all the lines on the car. Great contrast with the carbon roof if you get that option.

As I've stated before I do not regret going from IB to SSII. I got to see the coupes in person and the color is just phenominal.

I have never seen it in sea foam green under cloudy skies, and I live in Seattle. I do have a blue tint, but for the most part, it's silver. dark silver with a bit of baby blue. IMO, I love the color. I am very happy with it.

It's the BMW marketing department colour of choice for the E90 so they disagree

I find it tends to reflect the colour of the sky, when it's blue the car has that tint, when it's cloudy the car is very silver, I wouldn't change mine after having it for 2 weeks

I am also struggling on my color choice. My current order is AW but I am thinking of SSII. The problem is that our dealer here don't have any SSII available. He said that it is only available for M cars and they don't have any SSII M cars on the lot. I saw one M3 (E46) on the road last week and, for me, it looks cool. IMHO is a sophisticated color. My order is still don't have a production date so I still have time to think it over.

Agreed. I saw one the other day while traveling to San Diego. I has a blue tint to it, not green. Maybe under certain light conditions it would, I dunno. But this car did not show any green hues. My coworker even commented (without any asking by me) that it had a very slight bluish tint to it.

I saw one today and the blue tint is what really makes the car standout. Glad to hear the green comments seem to be a few color blind folks.............

my thoughts exactly.... i had white on order and than i started to look at white cars in the parking lot. doesn't seem like the best choice for a daily driver. don't get me wrong, it looks great clean. also the clar bra installer said you will notice the bra on white more than any other color.
