Stereo System
not sure if anyone faced this problem, but last week, on my way to Dubai from Muscat (which is usually a 4 hour drive) the whole stereo system decided to stop working half way there. however, when I got in the car after leaving it parked in the hotel for 5 hours it worked. Very strange!
Was wondering if anyone faced the same problem Thanks, |

I had a problem like this in a previous car. From cranking tunes on a hot day, the stereo was overheating and shut itself off as a form of self-protection.
The stereo worked again once it cooled off. |

The amp overheats... that happens in my cousins 545i... Kind of stupid for a car of this price but oh well.

Enhanced Premium Sound amps on 2008 and maybe 2009 overheat after long use, particularly in hot weather. There is a service bulletin on this and if you have one of the older amps (without a cooling fan) BMW will replace it with a new amp with a cooling fan, free.
