Where to get Number Decals?
For those who track your car regularly, any suggestions or advice where to get the removable number decals?
I figure I'd be doing enough events to graduate from painters masking tape. |

You could get those registration numbers they sell at West Marine...but they aren't really easy to remove...if you put them on the window it would be easy though.

Check your local motorcycle store, they usually have them in a variety of sizes & colors.

Or go the cheap route and print your desired number on a 8x11 piece of paper (or whatever size will fit) and have it laminated. then you can tape it to the inside of the rear quarter when needed and take it down when not

that is assuming the events you run let you pick your own number.
Usually you are assigned a number based on your run group. that aside...I've seen people use magnetic panel w/vinyl numbers on them.

most events i go to usually assign numbers to each of the cars so the organizers will give you the vinyl decals to put on the car.

I have run magnetic numbers for a while.
I just printed out large numbers via Word....like font size 10,000.....whatever size you want.... Then outlined them on a white magnetic sheet. Then cut out the numbers. I did three different numbers (such as 2, 5, 9). That way, you can mix-match to make a number that nobody else has that day. Any sign shop (Fast Signs, Signs Now, etc.) should have the magnetic stuff. In many years of doing this, I have never had a number come off the car while on track.

Painters tape FTW xD. I think theres a magnetic vinyl thing on the BMWCCA site for 50 bucks. Sticks to the side of the car and you can take a whiteboard marker and write on your number. when your done, take a paper towel and wipe it off. Its reuseable!
EDIT: maybe I saw that magnetic vinyl thing somewhere else...anyway theres this thing if you don't mind driving around with the logo on there http://www.bmwcca.org/phpsupercart/i...&productid=158 |
