DCT shift level malfunct. leads to transmission replacement

Ouch you figure that a late year release would have fixed any potential issues but dct is quiet complex..mine has a build date of June 2008 getting scared now since my warranty expires oct 2012...currently at 12k miles

Called today to get an update and figure out when it would be ready, they told me that all the work they do carries a 2 years warranty/unlimited mileage. This is done at a BMW dealership.

I was disappointed to find out that the DCT is not included in the extended warranty but here it is, I get 2 more years warranty on my DCT.

that is very promising..while driving my dct car i got his error message "Trans. range N" the transmission automatically shifts to P when the engine is switched off. Please take to a bmw center asap.

Not looking good. I found an article that said it maybe a software update but who knows.

gonna take the car first thing in the morning will post updates

i really hope DCT doesn't turn out to be an SMG nightmare...

Quick update it took them less then 30 mins to figure out the issue...software update fixed the issue...car has an improved drive it seems now
