Installation is an art just like plastic surgery and PDR. Just because you pay someone doesn't mean it's going to be done right or look good after.
There are a whole bunch of factors regarding installation. Materials, skill level, preparation, application, environmental conditions i.e. Too hot, Too cold, etc. It's unfortunate that you lost your spoiler but starting a thread telling everyone not to use tape is over reacting. In my opinion, there is more risk than reward using the more permanent betalink option which is why the majority of members choose double sided tape. Tape can be used. I can personally atest to the fact after doing the research and installing the OEM performance myself.

3M has an Adhesive Promoter,.... it does wonders. Little pad you use to prep the area your going to be sticking stuff to.

Likewise! Gotta post somewhere! I really need to shoot some more of my car, now that I have the carbon interior and splitters. Pics of my car are in the gallery section where all the pics end up on this board. I think the board is over sorted IMHO.

That is what happens if you had wax, sealant or some sort of dirt on the trunk lid or bottom of te spoiler when installed. You have to propery prep and clean both surfaces.
I use 3M adhesive remover...don't let it sit on the paint for very long. If you do that, the tape will stick VERY well.

I used beta link because I was afraid someone could steal the OEM Performance spoiler. It was a super easy DIY, and after a year, no issues at all.

It can hold exterior panels on the tallest hotel in the world at over 100 degrees, but it cant hold a extremely light weight spoiler on the M3. Right.....
