Question Resonator Question....

Hello Board..

Any ideas about what is the main purpose of the resonator in the e92's exhaust

What about the secondary cats

Cats do not reduce CO2 emissions, on the contrary they actually produce it..... they break down toxic coupounds through chemical reaction. They process NOx, 2CO, and HC's into the less harmfull C02 and H2O and N2.

Okay, I'll believe you. After finishing up my chem for pre dent I should have known that I guess lol, as far as I knew combustion produced h2o and CO2 which was then catalyzed. That N2 has to be at less then 1% though for sure..

secondary cats on my previous 335 got removed during aftermarket install and they were not hooked up the o2 sensors, not sure if it's the same on M3 but probaby so..

secondary cats are not hooked up to any sensors, I just removed mine.

We removed the Secondary cats and rear resonators on our last project M3. Here is a video. It was very aggressive and would be too loud for daily driving but it did sound really cool
