SOLD

Performance pulley for 2008 (up to end of May 2008 build) 6MT E9x M3s. Uses ribbed belts you can easily find at any auto parts store (a big plus). (Note: some May 2008 cars use the June 2008 build with anticlockwise power steering rotation...if in doubt, check first).

Here is the routing for the "Pre June 08" setup.
Here is the new routing "Post June 08" setup.

Never installed....got it for my 08 6MT but traded that car for an 09.

Asking 250 shipped.

PM me if interested.

This might be a dumb question but why is this pulley only good on 08's built until May of that year? Has there been a redesign of the belt/pulley stem in our motors and been implemented on cars built after May 08?

It's not a dumb question.

After June 2008 (and in some cases starting in May 08) the routing of the belts and belt type changed. Prior to June 08 the power steering used a clockwise rotation and the belts were single sided. After May 08 the power steering uses an anticlockwise rotation and a double sided belt.

Here is the routing for the "Pre June 08" setup.
Here is the new routing "Post June 08" setup.

I updated my OP (good question): May appears to be the cutoff point for some so if you have a May build you might have either routing...so best to check first.

Besides the belt change....what exactly else changed that it couldn't work for a 09?

Thanks for the informative response. I was not aware of the change(s). Since my 08 is a February build I should be safe with this item. What was/is the claimed horsepower increase/benefit of this kit and how long or involved is installation?

A pulley add around 10-12 HP and 6-8 TQ.

How long it would take to install depends on the installer's mechanical skills. Most guys are saying about 1.5 hours though as a rule of thumb.

There are two DIYs for install on this site:

First
Second

This is a great deal! Pulleys run 385.00 - 495.00 and this one is a steal at 250.00.

Just to reclarify, this belt is for 6MT E9X M3s with Post May/Jun 2008 build? is that correct?

Or will it work with DCT as well

No, pre May/June 08 build and 6MT.

But as noted in prior post, sale pending.
