Identifying Meisterschaft exhaust?

Just bought an E92 M3 from a 2nd owner. When he got the car, it already had the exhaust on. He did not know which model it was. I'm trying to identify it as I'd like to sell it. It sounds really good, but is pretty loud and has a little more bass/drone than I'd like for a daily driver.

It has matte black tips and the black aero shield, but I can't identify anything else. I'm also waiting to hear back from Meisterschaft.

In the meantime, are there any signature differences in the models I can look for? Also, how would I know how many sections there are?

I'm guessing from the volume that it's a GT2.

Will try posting pics tomorrow as well...

And slightly off-topic, how does the sound of the AA Signature exhaust compare to the Meisterschaft GT2?

I don't know of any visual distinction between the GT and the GT2. I couldn't tell them apart unless I heard them.

I run an AA Sig and it's much milder than a GT2. There's a hint of drone around 2K RPM, but that's not a rev range you'd usually be cruising in.

There should be a nameplate welded on the top side of the exhaust bridging the two muffler cans that will say whether it's a GT or a GT2. Depending on the generation (I believe there are 3), this plate will either be on the left side of the exhaust or in the middle (as pictured here: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/i...gt2catback.jpg)

Unfortunately, to actually read the plate while it's on the car you'll have to fish a camera under there and take a picture of it if you don't want to remove the exhaust to find out.

I have had a couple of these exhausts and I really don't remember it saying what model it was on that label. Their labeling is so poor that I couldn't even tell if the exhaust I had was for an E90 or E92 (even after calling them).

Yeah I just searched for close-up pics of that plate and it looks like you're right: http://i53.tinypic.com/a9wil4.jpg

Really unfortunate that their exhausts aren't labeled well. There's different versions as well but there's no indication on the exhaust itself other than just observing the muffler can design.

Gintani is the same.

yeah Gintani has no labels, but the sport is a longer (14") can versus the race @ 12". I believe their hybrid is a race material in the sport can or vice versa.

Anyone have photos of the stock x-pipe? Want to check to see if that's aftermarket too.

Just check and see if you still have primary cats with no cuts and welds deleting the secondaries. You're running stock if so.
