iPhone/iPod new issue out of the blue!

So, I bought the connector cord and had two days of great music. Then all of a sudden today, it shows up but sits in "loading data" and never stops. I tried to reset the iPhone but that did not help. I am wondering if I caused it by unplugging it while playing, but I have no idea how to reset through iDrive. HELP!

Also, is there any doc anywhere that talks about the "do's and don't's" of using the iPod with the car?

I've had weirdness with my iPod if I plug/unplug it while the car is on. It came back when I cycled the ignition. I.e. stop motor, restart... since then I haven't dared muck with the connection while the car ignition is on.

I'm hoping to get an iPhone 3G once (if) the bluetooth echo issues are resolved ...

I got a 3G iPhone about one week ago, and have had no "echo" issues with my Bluetooth (08 E90 M3). I was pleasantly surprised!

I read somewhere here that if you turn up the Bluetooth volume all the way and control the volume with the car the echo goes away. I have not had the problem however.

It's good to know not everyone is having the iPhone 3G echo problem. I also heard about the volume adjustment helping but not solving it all the way.

May have to give the 3G a shot now.. after making sure it's returnable for bluetooth issues like this. I think I read people have successfully returned them for this problem, though I'm sure it'll be a hassle.

How do you turn up the bluetooth volume?

When you are in a call, and the phone is connected to the BMW system, use the volume control on the iphone. It will increase the bluetooth audio volume.

OK, back to the original issue. After experiencing the problem, I finally went into my iPod software on the iPhone and I realized that it was hung-up in the last audio book I was listening to, and it was frozen there and I could not do anything. I reset it and was able to use the iPod functions again and I think that may have been what was causing the car to hang-up in the "loading data" mode. At least that is what I am hoping. I have my old 30gig iPod as back up and when I get back home on Firday I will see if this solves the issue. Based on the lack of specific reply I am assuming this is not a common issue.

Yes, when you are in a call use the volume button on the phone to turn it all the way up and then the volume button on the steering wheel or radio to turn it back down or up as you need to.
