I finally got on a boat, but can only find it on vesseltracker.info...that is dealyed data on position only...no wave height, temp, etc. SUX!!!

If anybody can find better data on the Capricornus Leader with a callsign of H8WX, please PM me!

TIA...Tim

After the car gets to the port in the USA, does it either go through VCP or directly to the dealer? or does it have to go throught both?

My understanding is that our cars will clear customs first. This, I am thinking is what takes the longest. The VDC sometimes takes care of any damage to the car if any. People who take European Delivery sometimes have damage to repair from their travels in Europe. God forbid the vehicle have transit damage to be repaired. Last, some cars / models have certain options the customer ordered that will be installed at the VDC. I believe all cars go to VDC, but depending on the above, determines how long they stay there. Already purchased cars have priority on processing....

Dealer told me mine is finished with production and is ready to get on a boat. I asked him to find out what boat it will be on so I can track it. I also finally got my Performance Center Delivery date of October 27th w00t.

hey, I thought the production status would change daily once it went into 150?

the 800-831-1117 number is still saying "vehicle in production, estimate completion date of ..."

it's been doing that since Friday.

[update]
it just started to give daily updates today after the weekend (4 days after it went 150)

Mine never did change. Day after day it just kept saying "Your vehicle is scheduled for production with an estimated completion date of September 17th). Until today (the 23rd) it finally changed to "Your vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier".

Wow, here's my timeline.

9/19 Status 150 (production started with estimated completion date of 9/25)
9/23 Status 151
9/24 Status 152
9/25 Status 160
9/27 Status 193 (arrived at port of exit, awaiting carrier)

This was rather quick.

[UPDATE]
10/6 loaded onto the ship Integrity. I missed 2 ships prior to getting onto the 3rd. I guess they had a lot of bmw's to ship

[UPDATE 2]
Arrived at NJ/NYC port 10/20 as scheduled.
Arrived at dealer 10/24

Does your VIN show up on the WW shipping website when you try to track your car? If so, what day did it first appear relative to your 10/6 ship date?

Just curious as my car was on a similar production timeline as yours and the BMW USA 800 number said it was on a ship when I called last Sat morning (10/4) but my car still doesn't appear when I search by VIN on the WW website. I e-mailed my CA but he has been slow to get back to me lately.

Thanks in advance!

Mine showed up a day after it got on the ship. Your car probably got on a different vessel. West coast deliveries may use a different carrier than W&W.

I'm taking delivery of my car in Chicago so I should be on a WW boat. I just called the BMW 800 number again out of curiosity and now it says my car is waiting at the port of exit. WTF!?!?!?! Frustrating when it said I was on a boat on Sat. I guess I'm sitting in the same boat (no pun intended) you were in with lots of cars waiting ahead of me at the port.

Looks like I'm waiting until at least 10/12 to get on the Tortugas (hopefully). Ugh. At least it's a fast boat. It gets into Charleston 2 days later than Integrity despite leaving Bremerhaven 6 days later.

K-Line serves the east coast as well. It's possible, indeed likely, that your car made it on a K-Line ship.

for west coast deliveries to Port Hueneme... looks like the WW line stops sending VOS data about a day or two out from the Panama Canal entrance... on once on the Pacific side, there still is no update reports... I wonder why....

My CA just faxed me a copy of my VIR and it says my status is "In Transit To Final Vpc". He translated that to "it's waiting to be assigned a carrier for transport to the dealer". That doesn't seem to make sense to me based on the BMW status message. Does anyone have any better insight into this? I'm getting anxious!!!

N.Atlantic Crackberry tracking!

http://mobile.vesseltracker.com

Need to use prior sites to obtain Vesssel IMO number.

Now 30km out of Southampton.

We'll see about approaching Halifax and east coast.

Ship to dock Halifax 11/04 and NYC 11/06-and then what?

per my previous post, looks like the VOS is reporting in again... the ship stopped reporting about 100km outside Panama and not until another 100km outside the Panama on the other side did it kick in again with position reports.

It's so funny how we get so wrapped up in anticipation of receiving one of these beauties... for some us there just can't be enough data... webcams on the car during transport, manufacture, etc.... delivered real time by twitter... lol.

I find sailwx.com far better info than vesseltracker.com ... for instance at this time vesseltracker.com data is 36 hours old and sailwx.com has the latest 6 hour fix from the ship.

+1. I also found that to be true when I was tracking my car.
