I'm sure you would've thought of posting it on all the other marketplace websites such as Craigslist and Swapalease and leasetrader. I have also posted my BMW for a lease transfer - few authentic responses so far however. You can try to spread the news of your lease transfer through word of mouth, it's one other avenue!

Hey thanks for the advice. Well the next step would be posting my car on leasetrader or swapalease like you said. I just thought the forums would be a good place to try to sell it. I had a couple in the ball park offers actually but not exactly what I wanted. Well GLWS with your car and again thanks!

If theres anyone interested in just purchasing the vehicle..I will take 64k and pay the remaining balance out of my pocket. It sits in my garage, I rarely drive this thing.

So does that mean you're willing to put a $6k incentive for a buyer if they transfer the lease?

(since you said buyout was 70k, you're willing to take 64k, and there's a 6k difference there)

Good to know

Btw, I've transfered leases in the past so somethings to remember:

The tire/wheel warranty does not automatically transfer. You need to fill out the application for transfer and send it in (once lease has been transferred) and pay the $25 (it was 25 then, could've gone up) fee for warranty transfer

The person taking over the lease needs to be approved by BMWFS and have better credit than if they were buying new (since no incentive for them to make the deal and the car has already been leased out).

There's also a $500+tax lease transfer fee.

Now a question from me:
Why did you do 39 months? i don't think I've ever seen that on a BMW... it causes you to pay for a whole year's worth of DMV registration but you only use the car for 3 months! I don't get it..

I'm a financial services manager at a Honda dealer, and this is very good info. Most people do not understand that they can't simply "take over the payments because I can afford it...". BMWFS needs to know you are able to afford it, too. It's the exact same process as buying a car from the dealer...because that's essentially what you're doing here, just with a huge helping hand from the OP. $6k incentive sounds very enticing too.

GLWS man! Damn nice combo.

Well folks, I think the 6k incentive is something to get the ball rolling here. I love this car and its a great color combo. Just to spice it up a bit more, I will pay the transfer fee also. This is an amazing deal!!

Bump

OP - did the lease transfer thing with my (former) 335i. Went to a fellow forum member after a lot of fits and starts (lots of interest, not a lot of good credit).

I'd recommend assembling the following in a DropBox or Google Drive folder:

1. Lots of high res pics
2. Your Lease Agreement, warranties, etc (of course, hide your ss, etc.)
3. CarFax (silly, I know, but people will ask)
5. Scanned copies of maintenance records
6. Scanned copy of a PPI from reputable dealer
7. Sample BMW Lease Transfer Docs (call BMW and ask for a sample, or google for them)

If you can link/share the above with interested parties it will drastically reduce the back/forth that occurs before actually approaching BMW FS. PPI may seem frivolous with low miles, but it will extend your reach past local lessors. Sample transfer docs are helpful in that they clearly outline the process.

w/ a $6k incentive, IMHO, you're getting closer to market (especially with wheel and tire).

Lastly, I would recommend parting out - as nice as your mods are, they probably hurt more than they help.

GLWT!

Hey, thanks for the bump and advice. I have most of those items composed and put together in a folder ready to view. However, I dont have a serious party yet. I am at my ceiling with the incentive. If it doesnt sell or transfer, I will keep it and enjoy the hell outa this amazing machine!

Just be patient - it'll move. Could be a few months though.

I have to believe that there will be a few folks looking for super-low mileage, final model year cars once productions ends.

Again, GLWT/S

Yes I would think people would be looking for last year production m3's. If theres is no movement in 2 months or so, then I will purchase it and give her some steroids Btw when are the last e92's rolling off the line?
