I thought that buying the substitute flashlight listed in the prior link would fill the hole I have in my life. But I will always know it's not the OEM BMW one for which I was entitled. The heart wants what the heart wants.

We will get through this as a forum community. I am thinking of signing up for a support group to help.

I won't even look in the back seat of my car. I have no rear center cup holders. Just a large space as big as the one in my soul. I went to get my car's first aid kit and see if there was some Zoloft in it but I don't even have the first aid kit.

Until I owned an E46 M3 I did not realize you could not order a complete, well-written, and comprehensive service manual like you can for most any other car. Luckily with the internet, the terrible and incomplete Bentley manual, copies of BMW's own TIS system, and the ever helpful Chinese would have reverse engineered and copied a number of BMW's interfaces, it is possible to hobble together a workable knowledge base.

Even with all of the above, finding a standardized step by step multimeter based test procedure for something as (should be) simple as the three TPS sensors is next to impossible.

The E92 is even worse in this regard. I would not attempt to DIY anything on my E92.

Something I didn't realize: You can shift a DCT into Neutral at any speed, if you let off the throttle and hold the stick left.

Agreed. Totally ridiculous how hard it is to find any information on this car, even something basic like torque specs takes an eternity of searching the internet

The alternate flashlight fits perfectly in the slot and works a lot better though

An observation about comfort access:
If you have just finished driving and you get out of the car without locking it and go to the back of the car to open the trunk, CA will NOT allow you to open the trunk. You have to lock the car first, to get access to the trunk after a drive.

Noticed that too; so now I just unlock all doors when exiting the car.

what do you mean? if i finish a drive and shut down my engine, i can go and open the trunk easily. i don't have to lock the doors.

I didn't get a flashlight with the car, but I did get a free M key fob cover, which is much more useful. I just throw a mini MagLite in my glovebox, and viola, flashlight now present in car.

So, my GF takes credit for this as she discovered it... we just found out that the gas pedal goes even farther down then the last point of resistance. Even if you mash the pedal all the way down until it resist's, push harder and it will go farther. I suspect this is only useful for DCT cars in automode. She was driving highway speeds on D5 and mashed the pedal all the way down (to the second to last point of resistance) and it downshifted to 4th, she mashed it even harder to the last point of resistance and it downshifted to 3rd @ 7800rpm.

Edit: This is what i am referring to: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83497
