It's Monday, 26 Oct. So it's not a weekend. It's $125 for the day for first timers to BMWCCA events or $175 if you're not a first timer. Plus $40 BMWCCA membership, which is required.

Check it out at www.njbmwcca.org

Looking forward to seeing you again at the track next year!

I had a great time! It would have been better with longer runs, but overall, it was an awesome experience.

Mtrois, it was great seeing you there. Skierman was a "mentor" for me, and was a huge help...thanks man! I didn't get to meet Midlife. Do you know who was in the other Interlagos Blue E92 M3 with window tint?

I got a little crazy with the 3M painters tape! Here are some pics I found online:

...and this is me... after my 180 at the exit of Turn #7 (beginning of Run #2)!!

Reminder for all: Do not, I say DO NOT Forget to warm up your tires before you start attacking the corners!

The rest of the day was eventless... and filled with much better driving!

I was there in my E46 328i sedan (orient blue)- I ran the green group. Between working tech Sunday night and Monday morning and helping out with the slalom, I barely had time to do my own runs!

I'm glad you all had a good time, and I'm hoping that a lot of the newbies will be back for more!

The shorter runs were a result of having two red run groups. With 40 newbies everyone got a little less time. It's funny because I was responsible for bringing in 10% of the newbies. As a comparison, on Saturday and Sunday we ran two 25 minute sessions in the morn and two 30 minute sessions in the afternoon. But it was also $395 for two days.

Being your mentor was my pleasure. You can think of me as the driving school crack dealer.

Any damage to the paint of the M3?

mtrois - it looks like you are going the wrong way. At least, it looks like you are on the correct side of the road.
Glad you had a good time. That is what counts.

Here's my video. I didn't add comments or sound effects, just raw video of 20 minutes of the 4th session of the green group (Advanced) on Monday. But hey, I passed a GT3. My best lap according to the video was a 1:22.4. Everything is stock except for Hawk 60 pads and Toyo R888 tires.

NIce video. Looks like cars are not all that accommodating with point bys. Looks like you were held up a lot, but good driving.

May I ask how you like your Hawk pads. I run them front and rear on my track car (Gold H10 race pads) and have never had a problem. Understand however that some have had issues.

I know, I know... a little newbie mistake!

But trust me... the rest of my sessions were much better. I have already learned a lot... but so much more to learn!! Can't wait for next season.

Not at all... I was almost stopped when I ended on the side of the track (both feet in...and a lot of smoke!) so there was not even a piece of dust on the car. Good thing though because my car was not covered with painter tape like Steve's!!

I love the Hawlk DTC 60s, they were great. I had a problem with them on the first day because they had some pad transfer which caused vibration. Then on Sunday and Monday no issues. They have great cold braking and they are like throwing out an anchor from the initial brake application. I had no trouble modulating them at all.

I don't feel like I was held up excessively. Maybe a bit at the beginning of the session but nothing excessive.
