E92 M3 in Edmunds

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...topanel..1.*#2

"The 2008 BMW M3 might have the grunt to challenge the Porsche 911, but it doesn't quite have the finesse or the emotive appeal. Indeed, you end up wondering whether it's worth paying such a premium over the brilliant BMW 335i coupe.

Clearly, some of M Power's engineers are thinking the same thoughts. They let slip that a lighter, harder-edged M3 CSL is already in development."

Hmmm, interesting

I like that line. Plus it will be harder to extract more power out of an NA engine than our turbos with more tuning. We already run the same 0-60 stock. Go figure.

i read that article. Did anyone read the G vs the 3 article??? best quote:

"And by most standards, the Infiniti G37 is an impressive car and a lot of fun. But it isn't as quick as the BMW 335i, nor does it engage its driver with equal commitment." - edmunds

For that money, you should be picky. It's not the only game in town.

its going to be a great car, but in that price range theres a lot of other cars in that class that maybe better. I'm still going to make my wife buy me it though

Hmmm... that was a very interesting article, definitely a good read. I think that they will always hold the M3 to a higher standard then other cars since it has been the car to set the standard for its class for so many years. Anytime your car gets compared to a 911, that is always a good thing, but when the price is almost the same then why not just buy it instead? I'll have to wait until I can get behind the wheel of one before I can pass judgement, but I am still impressed by the new M3. I'm sure it will be an awesome car since my 335 doesn't cease to impress me, and the M is known for taking it up another level.

Still not unhappy that I got the E92 instead of waiting for the M3. When my lease it up, the DSG will be available and I won't have to wait a year for delivery...

No one besides BMW is going to compare the M3 to a 911. That was BMW's goal, but I cant see anyone who's not working for BMW truly believing that.

I would rather go with Lotus Exige S for the price of M3.

I'm a huge fan of the exige S, and the driving experience that the exige gives you is insane, but at the end of the day its nothing like an M3. One feels like you are driving a go-kart and the other feels like a real car.
